It was a first-class affair when Robert Pattinson and Elizabeth McGovern married in 2016. While their relationship was kept largely under wraps, we can tell you that their wedding was a lavish affair that included a host of celebrity guests.
The couple married in an intimate ceremony in London, on a warm summer day in June 2016. The church they chose was the same one where Princess Diana married Prince Charles in 1981. After the ceremony, the guests were treated to a reception at the nearby Four Seasons Hotel.
Pattinson and McGovern had been dating for two years before tying the knot. As is typical with celebrity weddings, the couple chose to keep their guest list private, but several familiar faces were spotted, including Robert’s Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz.
The Bride’s Dress
McGovern wore a striking full-length gown with an elegant train and intricate beading on the bodice. The dress was made of ivory silk and featured a low back and a Victorian-style high neckline. She accessorized with a simple tiara and a pair of pearl earrings.
The Groom’s Outfit
Robert Pattinson chose a classic black tuxedo for his special day. He paired the tux with a crisp white shirt, black bow tie and black patent leather shoes. To top off the look, he wore a black top hat.
The Bridesmaids’ Outfits
McGovern chose a classic navy blue dress for her bridesmaids. The dresses were made of velvet and featured a high neckline and long, flowing skirts. The bridesmaids wore their hair in elegant updos and accessorized with pearl earrings.
The Ceremony
The ceremony itself was a small, intimate affair with only close friends and family in attendance. McGovern walked down the aisle to a traditional rendition of the “Bridal Chorus,” and the couple exchanged their vows in front of a beautiful stained-glass window.
The Reception
The newlyweds were treated to a lavish reception at the Four Seasons Hotel. The reception featured a four-course meal, live music and plenty of dancing. Guests were also treated to a fireworks display, which capped off the evening in grand fashion.
