More Bad News for Netflix

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows for Netflix. The streaming service was dealt a major blow when the New York Supreme Court upheld a jury’s decision that it had to pay $11.3 million in damages to the plaintiff in a copyright infringement lawsuit. The plaintiff in the case is the band BTS, which filed the suit after it found out that Netflix had featured the band’s songs without permission in a series of commercials that were broadcast during the 2018 Super Bowl.

The judge in the case ordered Netflix to remove all copyrighted music from its advertisements and to compensate artists for all unauthorized uses of their work. It’s important to note that the Band-Maidz case is not over and the legal fight against Netflix is far from being won, but this is still a major setback for the streaming service.

Kylie Jenner’s Newest House Was Just Sold for Over $25 Million

Keeping up with the Kardashians isn’t cheap, but owning a house that’s on the market for over $25 million might be worth it. That’s what Kylie Jenner’s just sold hers for. The 21st century’s most famous (and arguably, most hated) child launched her own home renovation company and used the opportunity to create an outdoor kitchen, pool house, and lots of seating space. She also added an outdoor fire place and a screen porch for extra relaxing and entertaining space.

A representative for Kylie Jenner’s company, Life of Kylie, tells HollywoodLife.com, “We are ecstatic to have closed this acquisition without any complications. We look forward to continuing to grow the business and developing more innovative and sustainable products for homeowners across the country.”

Robert Pattinson Finally Moves In with Fiancee.

After a very public split from Twilight co-star and rumored girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, former couple Robert Pattinson and Stewart moved in together. The two have been seeing each other for over a year and are seemingly happier than they’ve ever been before.

The gingerbread-themed wedding took place at an outdoor vineyard in New York in September 2018 and was filled with family and friends. Robert, who is currently filming the third season of The Twilight Zone, didn’t share any details about the wedding cake or the guest list, but did post a photo of his brand new fiancee on Instagram. The photo shows the couple embracing as Stewart holds up a sign that says “wedding bells.”

This isn’t the first time the couple has managed to keep their relationship under the radar. Back in 2014 they avoided the paparazzi by moving to a small village in France to shoot the third installment of their Twilight series. While there, they stayed in a small hotel and used a private jet to travel incognito between locations.

Now that they’re a couple, Robert Pattinson will be adding wife to his already lengthy resume, which includes an Oscar win for his music video “Hotel California.” He has previously been married to Emily Benson, a yoga instructor, and model Stella McCartney. The 45-year-old hasn’t revealed whether he’ll continue working on soundtracks or if he’ll pursue a career in film. As for Stewart, she currently has her hands full with her acting career and life with her daughter and partner. She hasn’t released any details about her wedding plans, but told Entertainment Tonight, “We’re engaged and having a great time. It’s been a dream of mine to marry a musician. He’s such an amazing talent, and I’m so lucky to have found him.”

It seems that even in 2018, the photographers will stop at nothing to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrity. The worst part is that a lot of the time, these photographers have a way of digging deeper into a celebrity’s private life and finding things that they shouldn’t have. It’s a sad state of affairs and one that has many Hollywood stars afraid to let their guards down for fear of what might happen. Perhaps it’s time for celebrities to start owning their own lives instead of letting the paparazzi hold them hostage.

The Evolution of Superbowl Advertising.

It was inevitable that as the years went by, the medium would evolve and change. The commercials during the 2018 Super Bowl were some of the most memorable in history. Whether you love Pepsi or hate the drink, you have to admit that their commercial set the bar quite high for future commercials.

It began with the expected commercials for brand name products. Coca-Cola and Procter & Procter are probably the most recognizable brands from this year’s Super Bowl and their commercials were typical. There was also a Bud Light commercial featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar and a Doritos commercial with soccer superstar Lionel Messi. On paper, these might be the type of ads that you would expect to see during the Super Bowl.

Then there were the political ads. First, there was the Bernie Sanders 2016 ad for the Democratic Party. Then, in the Best Buy vs. Apple battle, the two major parties duked it out. It seems that the lines between politics and marketing have become blurred, especially during a time when both sides of the aisle are relying heavily on the digital world to spread their messages. There was also an Airbnb commercial where a group of diverse women share their candid thoughts on gender equality.

It’s interesting to note that the majority of these ads featured celebrities, many of whom are now household names. Whether you were a fan of one of these famous faces or not, you have to admit that they did an incredible job advertising their products. We’ll have to wait and see if this trend continues next year, but for now, it’s safe to assume that every type of advertisement will be on display during the biggest football game of the year. The Final Season of The Twilight

The Twilight saga ends this year with Breaking Dawn – Part 2. After spending five years living in a seemingly perfect world, Bella (Kristen Stewart) finally finds the strength to accept Jacob Black’s (Taylor Lautner) proposal and the two embark on a journey that will change them both forever.

In a press release, Summit Entertainment, the company that distributes The Twilight, says that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be “one of the biggest and most popular films of the year.” Indeed, the fourth installment of the vampire franchise is expected to make a grand total of $400 million worldwide. It will be the last movie that Stewart and Lautner will be a part of together. After years of filming almost nonstop, the actor has put her career on hold to focus on her relationship with Stewart. However, she will make a brief cameo in the fourth season as part of a “beauty” pageant where Stewart is slated to appear. It doesn’t look like Bella is enjoying her single life very much. In fact, she’s probably more excited about her upcoming wedding to Black than she is about finishing up her senior year of college.
