The biggest news story right now might be the ongoing love triangle between Hollywood’s most famous A list couple, Donald Trump and Kristen Stewart. The two have been together since 2014 and have a child named Bingham together. Since then, they’ve enjoyed a very public, yet low-profile, love story. It’s safe to say they’ve made it work — and work hard — to be able to enjoy this time in their lives.

But just like any other celebrity couple, they’ve had to deal with a few bumps in the road. Here, we’re going to run down the key things you need to know about the Trump-Stewart love affair.

It Started With A Bit Of Bickering

As Buzzfeed’s Amanda Cohen reports, the two bonded over their mutual dislike of each other’s exes. The mother-of-one has been married to Jim Messina, the White House director of administration, since 2010. They have two children together named Joanna and Joseph. However, she dated director Logan Scott from 2012 to 2014 and Twilight actor Billy Kay from 2006 to 2010.

She first met Donald Trump in 2013 at a dinner party and the rest, as they say, is history. The real-estate developer and celebrity billionaire was reportedly entranced by Stewart’s beauty and intelligent conversation. He invited her to meet his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared at his Mar-a-Lago mansion in March 2014. The next day, he flew her out to his personal island in the Bahamas for a romantic getaway.

Their relationship wasn’t sealed forever — in fact, it was more like an engagement than a proper courtship. As Buzzfeed reports, the couple bickered over issues such as money, religion, and family. But they eventually found a way to work through their differences and, as Cohen points out, found a way to “make it work.”

It’s All About The Money

There’s a reason why this story has dominated the news cycle for the past three months. The money talks — and it always will. But perhaps the primary reason behind all the commotion is that the Trumps and Stewarts are extremely wealthy. So when you add their significant other status to the mix, it’s clear what industry Buzzfeed is referring to.

In 2015, Forbes estimated the family’s collective net worth at $1.56 billion. That’s more than double the $756 million net worth of the second-place ranked Forbes 400 member, the Walt Disney Company. They also have enough money to rank No. 10 on the Forbes list.

The Trumps are famous for shunning publicity and keeping a low profile. In 2016 alone, Forbes reports the family’s revenue was $285 million. That’s a 24% increase from the previous year. It also notes that the family’s “best-performing stock” is the now-ubiquitous Trump University, worth over $20 million. The business, which the U.S. Federal Government still doesn’t really know what it is, somehow managed to convince over 500,000 people to sign up for its online university.

So in short, the Trumps make a ton of money and stay out of the spotlight — which is probably why most people didn’t know about the relationship until recently.

Their Kids Are Growing Up (Sort Of)

The oldest of Donald Trump’s five children, Ivanka, is dating New York entrepreneur and deal-maker, Jared Kushner. The couple, who are both thirty-three years old, have been dating since 2015 and were first pictured together in March 2017.

Ivanka, who converted to Judaism before marrying Kushner, is a real estate mogul in her own right. She owns her own New York City real estate brokerage and has done business with the U.S. Government. She also serves on the board of directors for the Israel American Council. Her father, Donald Trump, has acknowledged that she’s taking over his business and has said that she’s doing a “fantastic job” running the company he started.

The second oldest child of Donald Trump and his first wife, Ivana, is Donald Trump Jr. He is also CEO of Trump Organization, which has over 500 corporate offices around the world. It also owns the Scottish golf courses, Doonbeg and Trump International, as well as the Turnberry course in Scotland, which is one of the most prestigious courses in the world. He is married to Vanessa Haydon, with whom he has two children. He has previously been married to Marla Maples and, briefly, to Sherry Blair.

Next up is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump and Ivana, named Ivanka Trump. The businesswoman is also a real estate mogul and invests in development, purchasing, and leasing commercial real estate. She has over 100 corporate offices around the world, and is a member of the boards of directors for the U.S. China Business Council and the International Business Leaders Roundtable. Ivanka has been in a relationship with financier and entrepreneur, Mauricio Umansky, since 2014. The two were first seen together in the Hamptons in August 2014 and were soon after photographed at a party in the Hamptons with other members of the “Metropolitan Club”. The two have a son named Noah, born in February 2017.

Donald Trump’s third and youngest daughter, Tiffany, is also engaged to be married to entrepreneur and investment banker, Simon Konecny. They dated for three years and became engaged in 2015. Their parents aren’t quite as happy about the impending engagement as the two are. In fact, Donald Trump has blasted his ex-daughter’s suitor on Twitter, calling him “a very pathetic individual.” Still, Tiffany and Simon have vowed to be “happy and respectful” of his company and their families’ historic business relationship.

As for what happens after the wedding…well, all of a sudden, the Forbes 400 list won’t seem quite so exclusive anymore.
