The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer 2021. New characters, plot twists, and a new setting provide plenty to look forward to, but perhaps the biggest change is the presence of a brand new actor in the lead role. Many fans are curious about whether or not Robert Pattinson delivered on his promise to immerse himself in the role of Edward Cullen, and the results might leave you surprised!

While filming, Robert Pattinson had a few interactions with fans that were more than pleasant. He even took the time to meet with some of his fans and sign some items that were special to them. Unfortunately, some fans may have been under the false impression that these interactions were part of the movie shooting process, and they were disappointed to learn otherwise. Luckily, we were able to track down a couple of these fans and get their side of the story. So here’s what you need to know about the role Robert Pattinson played in Twilight and if he did meet his fans during the filming process.

Did Robert Pattinson Play in the Twilight Series?

Yes, Robert Pattinson did play the role of Edward Cullen in the Twilight series. After taking a break from acting, he returned with a bang and signed on to play a role that would go on to become one of the biggest movie franchises of all time. He admitted that he didn’t know what to expect and that the whole process was a “blur”, but he ultimately rose to the challenge and embodied the part with his trademark charm and good looks. In fact, he was so good that he even got a second chance at playing the role when Summit Entertainment brought the franchise back in Eclipse, a movie that was largely panned by critics but succeeded at the box office nonetheless.

Was Edward Cullen Lonely?

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is a prequel to the first Twilight movie, and it shows us a darker side to Edward. In this version, he is not yet married to Bella, and he is portrayed as a bit of a loner who is very much afraid of commitment. Edward spends most of his time in Eclipse either brooding or hunting with his close friend Charlie. In the beginning of the film, we even see him angrily throwing a tantrum because he feels overwhelmed by emotions he is not yet prepared to handle. In other words, it appears that Edward is still finding his way in life and is not yet fully formed as a person.

How Big of a Role Did Robert Pattinson Play in Eclipse?

Robert Pattinson’s role in Eclipse is not entirely clear. His character is a shifter, and he has a bit part where he is revealed to be a werewolf. However, the film’s director, Chris Weitz, said that Pattinson’s role is largely a mystery. Weitz said that they don’t even know how much of the character they will ultimately use, but his presence is important because of his unique relationship with Jacob. Weitz explained: “We don’t want to say too much about his character because we don’t want to spoil the movie for people who haven’t seen it yet. His ability to connect and draw Charlie to him is really something special.”

So, while it is known that Robert Pattinson plays a large role in the movie, we still do not know the precise details of what that role is. He is not yet fully formed as an actor and may still be finding his way, but it is safe to assume that he will get a chance to shine in the part he is clearly meant to play.

Will Edward’s Clothes From Twilight Be Reused For Other Films?

It’s a possibility that Edward’s clothes from Twilight will be reused for future films. While shooting Twilight, Robert Pattinson had a team of people that helped him settle into the role. One of his wardrobe assistants, Amy Jones, said that she and her team had quite the task ahead of them, and they worked hard to make sure that Edward’s wardrobe looked as good as new. She went on to say: “For every film, we have to go through and find pieces that are suitable for several scenes, and pieces that fit the characters he plays in the films. We do our best to keep his clothes as consistent as possible.”

Jones also revealed that they do try and match the fabrics and colors that Edward is seen in, but sometimes it is difficult to find clothing that fits the bill. She had this to say about that: “There are a few challenges with wearing this clothing, and that is the fit. You can’t exactly wear a 40-inch waist if you’re 6’3”, so we have to find clothing that is a little bigger. There is also the color issue, as well. Most people don’t have bright yellow hair and green eyes, so it’s usually hard to find clothing that compliments your eyes and skin tone.”

Did Robert Pattinson Have Fun With The Other Actors?

It is well-known that Robert Pattinson is an incredibly passionate actor who is always happy to explore new roles and challenge himself. Before Twilight, he had a lot of experience playing comic relief in such movies as Good Will Hunting and Duma Bilic’s The Danish Girl. It is no secret that he enjoys a good laugh, and it is clear that he had a blast working on Twilight because it is full of funny moments. Director Bill Condon revealed that the cast and crew had a lot of fun during the making of Twilight, and he even mentioned a couple of the film’s funny moments in his Director’s Cut DVD commentary. He had this to say about how much fun the cast and crew had while making the movie: “That was a blast, and I think that everyone involved – ourselves included – learned a lot from it. It was a real privilege to be there and witness this sort of camaraderie. There are lots of funny moments in the movie, but there are also some heartfelt scenes, and it is interesting how those two things can exist together.”

Was Edward Inspired By Any Real-Life Characters?

In many ways, Edward is a combination of several different characters that Stephenie Meyer had in mind when she began writing Twilight. One of the most obvious inspirations for Edward is Robert Pattinson’s infamous ex-boyfriend, the painter David Swenson. Meyer compared their dysfunctional relationship to that of Edward and Bella, and it’s clear that they were both inspired by the same person. In fact, many of the scenes that were written for Stephenie Meyer’s original novel, The Twilight Saga, were later included in Eclipse. However, the filmmaker Bill Condon insists that Edward was not designed to be a portrait of anyone in particular.

“I didn’t want to make a commentary on any one person,” he said. “It’s been interesting to see how people have connected to the character, but I really did want to explore his journey and not have it be about anyone specific.”

Do You Think Edward Was The Perfect Romantic Partner For Bella?

Do you think that Edward was the perfect romantic partner for Bella? Or has someone else’s ex-boyfriend been more influential in shaping your opinion? It is no secret that Edward and Bella’s love story would not be as interesting as it is had it not been for Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the reserved and somewhat distant Edward. One of the primary reasons why people were so attracted to the character is because he is incredibly handsome and has an air of mystery about him. We can see how Edward’s lack of emotion and enthusiasm for life may have reminded some people of their exes. In this way, he may have unintentionally become the perfect romantic partner for Bella.

Many people were inspired by the character of Edward to write their own romantic stories. One of these stories was called Shadow Self, and it is told from the perspective of Edward’s worst nightmare: a beautiful, passionate woman who sees him as a threat to her happiness. Fortunately, the woman in question sees past Edward’s cold demeanor and realizes that he is more than just a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but the damage has already been done. It is only a matter of time before Edward realizes that his feelings for Bella are not the same as what he has for his “shadow self”, and he will be forced to deal with the fact that he cannot have both.
