It’s been a crazy week for Robert Pattinson fans. The actor, singer, and model welcomed a new baby girl into the world on Sunday, June 9th. And while he’s previously spoken about how fatherhood has changed his life for the better, this time it’s truly been a transition. Let’s take a look back at the rollercoaster week that was.
New Baby Girl
On June 9th, the proud papa posted an adorable family photo on his personal Instagram account alongside the caption “Happy father’s day, baby girl! We love you more than words can say. Thank you for making us a family.” This was followed by another post with a video of him singing “On My Own” by Jennifer Lopez, with the caption “Can’t believe how much my life has changed in just over a year. This song is dedicated to you, my love. You make every day an adventure.”
Pattinson, who had previously dated Hollywood starlets like Megan Fox and Gwyneth Paltrow, first revealed that he was a dad in early 2017 when he shared a sweet photo of himself and his beautiful young daughter Lily on his Instagram account. At the time, he hadn’t dated anyone for more than a year and was starting to feel like a father figure to his 24-year-old nanny, Summer. In 2018, he opened up more about his daughter’s birth, telling Entertainment Tonight that she was “perfect” and had come into the world “just as we were finishing off [his solo] album.” He continued, “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind, but she’s a perfect little baby.”
While there’s no doubt that being a dad has altered Pattinson’s life for the better, it’s clear that having a child can also change the way you look at things. And this certainly appears to be the case for the former couple. Aside from revealing the gender of their daughter on Instagram (with the caption “She was hiding”), the proud parents didn’t provide any other details about the newborn other than to share a sweet video of her crying. “She’s perfect,” Pattinson told ET. “[The fans are] going to love her.”
Wedding Plans
Just a few days after welcoming their daughter into the world, the couple announced that they were getting married. “We’ve been dreaming of this day for as long as we’ve known each other,” Pattinson said in a statement. “It’s been an amazing and emotional week, and we can’t wait to enjoy this moment with our family and friends.”
The wedding will be a low-key affair, with only family and a few close friends invited. “It won’t be a lavish affair, but it will be a celebration of our love,” the statement went on to say. “We’re so happy to share this news with you all.”
Pattinson and Ross have been together for nearly 12 years and had previously dated for two years before eventually deciding to wed. The couple chose London’s City Hall for their engagement and wedding ceremony on June 18th. The reception will follow at a nearby hotel. The guest list for the engagement party includes a number of A-list celebs, like Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Blunt. And while it’s no doubt that Pattinson and Ross’ upcoming nuptials are exciting for their fans, it’s also likely to be a wrenching experience for those who have been waiting for this day for a long time.
Rumors & Speculation
Although they haven’t commented publicly on their daughter’s birth, rumors have swirled around the globe since Sunday that the actress-turned-singer is indeed Ross’ second child with Pattinson. A source told People that Ross is “ecstatic” about being a mother and can’t stop brimming with praise for her new baby girl. But the actress’ personal assistant quickly shot down the notion that the couple is in fact brother and sister. “They are not,” the assistant said. “Ross is a far more mature individual than that.”
Another source told Star that they had heard “sounds of roars” coming from inside Pattinson’s Los Angeles apartment building on Monday, June 10th, adding that it appeared to be “a little girl’s room celebration.” The outlet also heard that the father of the child is “a wealthy and famous Hollywood star.”
On Tuesday, June 11th, one of the website’s reporters rang the doorbell of the apartment building adjacent to the Hollywood star’s home, and a woman answered the door. When the reporter inquired about the parties going on inside, the woman replied, “You must be thinking of someone else. There’s no parties here.” The reporter continued and asked if this was the home of Robert Pattinson, to which the woman answered “no,” before slamming the door and turning the deadbolt lock.
The Big Reveal
On Wednesday, June 12th, the actress and the singer finally addressed the rumors, confirming their daughter’s existence and her full name in an Instagram post that had been gaining a lot of traction online. “After much speculation, I’m happy to finally confirm that I’m a mother and father,” Ross tweeted. “It was an incredibly difficult decision to keep my baby secret for so long, but I’ve been blessed with an amazing daughter.” Continuing, she wrote, “I love being a mummy and dad so much, and I can’t wait to share my daughter’s first adventures with the world.”
The following day, Ross and Pattinson confirmed the rumors in a joint appearance on Instagram. “I will never forget the first time I met you,” Pattinson said in his debut Instagram post. “I saw you and I thought to myself, ‘This is it. This is the one. I’ve found her.’ And you turned out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Thank you for making me a better person. You’ve brought me joy. We are so happy to finally share this moment with you.”
Ross continued, “I’m so happy to finally be able to tell you that you’re going to be an amazing mother. You’re going to change my life and give me the most extraordinary daughter. Thank you for being patient with me as I’ve been waiting for this day. I love you.”
Pattinson and Ross had kept their daughter’s existence a secret from the public, but had not guarded their relationship from friends and family, which has led to speculation about the nature of their union. The celebrity couple previously dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2016. They wed just over a year later in a low-key ceremony in front of just a few family members and friends.

Fox’s representative has since squashed these reports. The media frenzy wasn’t just limited to online tabloids, either, and as the week came to a close, the New York Post ran a screaming headline that read, “EXCLUSIVE: Is THIS the little girl bandleader we’ve been hearing about?” The article, which also named the band, went on to say that they were “formed at breakneck speed behind the scenes” and that their debut EP was “due out this year.”
