It’s official: ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart and her beau, Chad Kroger, are engaged! They’ve been dating for nearly two years and recently proposed to each other at a private wedding. It’s been a very happy union for the couple, who were both previously married. The actress wore a stunning black dress and Kroger wore a classic tuxedo, but the venue was quintessential ‘Twilight’: the couple got hitched under a tented canopy in front of an iconic Cullen mansion.
The Best Wedding To Come Out Of ‘Twilight’
The wedding night was extra special for Stewart and Kroger. Not only is this day a celebration of their love for one another, but it’s also the night before Stewart’s 22nd birthday. The two threw a joint party with some of their closest friends and family members, where there were loads of laughs and plenty of tears. Stewart, who recently turned 22, looked incredible in a bright-yellow dress and white diamonds while Kroger was dashing in a dark-green tie and matching pocket square. The newlyweds enjoyed a romantic meal, followed by dancing and fireworks extravaganza.
‘Twilight’ Never Gets Old
Stewart has made it clear that she wants to keep the ‘Twilight’ magic alive by honoring the franchise with yet another cinematic milestone. She’s currently working on the script with her ‘Thrashin’ pals Nichole Behar and Michael Baumann. Additionally, Stewart is producing the film through her company, SpringHill Productions, alongside her ‘Twilight’ director, Melina Matsoukas.
Based on the ‘Twilight’ novels by Stephenie Meyer, the as-yet-untitled film is set for a 2019 release. The screenplay is currently in lockdown, but we do know that there will be some juicy cameos from ‘Twilight’ staples like Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, and Kate Winslet. We also know that Stewart and Kroger will have a cameo, as will the film’s lead actress, Saoirse Ronan.
In other news, the much-anticpated ‘Birds Of Prey’ (February 12, 2020) continues to ride the wave of ‘Twilight,’ setting another new record for Disney and showing that the studio’s dark heroines know how to charm the crowds. The latest installment in the DC cinematic universe shattered box office records with $290 million globally and became the third highest-grossing film of all time. Not bad for a B-movie directed by Dax Shepard!
Wedding Rings For Arpels: Newest ‘Twilight’ Attraction
The upcoming Netflix series ‘Wedding Rings’ takes a behind-the-scenes peek at the extravagant world of high-end jewelers. The series follows the lives of Christian Arpels and his employees as they travel the world fulfilling royal and celebrity orders. The show is based on a real-life operation and was inspired by the 2010 movie ‘Blood Diamond.’
Arpels is one of the most prestigious firms in the business, and one of the few companies that has its own private island. They are also the company that designs the iconic yellow and green rings that Taylor Swift wears. Naturally, with a surname like Arpels, there will be lots of bling on show.
A Wedding To Remember
Chad Kroger and Kristen Stewart cemented their celebrity status as they made their way to the altar in a private sunset ceremony. The wedding took place in front of hundreds of guests at the Cullen mansion in the woods of New York City’s Hamptons. The couple chose a traditional route, walking down the aisle in a white dress and holding hands as they pledged their love for one another.
The ceremony was conducted by Rabbi Joshua Neustaedter, who is credited with getting Tiger Woods to play ball again. It was a beautiful summer day and as the sun began to set, guests were treated to an incredible display of lights, music, and fireworks.
A Royal Wedding?
The ceremony was a real treat for ‘Twilight’ fans. Robert Pattinson and KStew looked incredible in their white wedding dresses while Pattinson’s ‘Twilight’ character, Edward Cullen, provided an ‘auspicious’ speech. Kate Winslet and Taylor Lautner delivered the hilarious ‘Maurice’ speech from ‘Titanic.’ Winslet plays the role of Lady Rose De Beaufort, and Lautner’s character, Jack, is on the verge of proposing to Rose.
Winslet also had a memorable turn as the duchess of Windsor in the 2015 film ‘The Princess Bride.’ She plays a pivotal role in that film, as well, which revolves around a prince’s quest to marry a beautiful woman he just met. The audience never gets a chance to settle down with the beautiful actress, however, as she disappears for much of the film. She then returns at the very end, when she and the prince are riding off into the sunset.
While we wait for Stewart and Kroger to spill the beans on their wedding plans, let’s take a look back at some of the most iconic ‘Twilight’ moments.
The Beginning
The first ‘Twilight’ installment (2012) was the perfect introduction to this unique, young adult franchise, setting the stage for what’s to come. The movie follows the story of Bella (Stewart), a young woman who moves to Colorado with her mom and dad, where she meets a group of high school kids who become her ‘twilight’ family. She is overwhelmed by the attention and suddenly finds herself in the middle of a vampire-witch battle, as one of the kids tries to feed on her. The other kids try to defend her, and Edward (Pattinson), a charismatic and attractive student, draws the ire of his adversaries. It’s up to Bella to decide which ‘vampire’ she will side with: will she choose the seductive, but dangerous James (Lautner)? Or the chivalrous, but insane Charlie (Pattinson)? The ending will surprise you.
The Dance
The very first ‘Twilight’ trailer teased an audience with an amazing, albeit brief, dance routine. Lautner and Stewart are one of the most iconic couples in film history, and this fan-favorite moment was a memorable display of their on-screen chemistry. In the trailer, the two perform a passionate tango to Ed Sheedy’s ‘Let Me Be Your Valentine,’ though it’s not quite clear whether this is genuine passion or choreographed. Still, it doesn’t really matter – between the two of them, they have enough stage moves to keep an entire dance class busy for an entire year.
Breaking Dawn
The second (and, so far, final) installment in the ‘Twilight’ saga premiered this year to rave reviews and even more popular acclaim. ‘Breaking Dawn’ picks up where the original film left off, with Bella (Stewart) giving birth to their daughter, human-born Alice (named after Meyer’s imaginary friend, Alice). The film received two Oscars, including Best Cinematography, and is widely considered one of the greatest of all time.
The highly anticipated sequel continues to please audiences with its emotional intensity and big-name guest stars (Winslet, Lautner, and Uma Thurman, among them). As Bella struggles to find her voice as a parent, she comes across as surprisingly mature for her young age, a quality that makes her fully relatable and endearing. This was a significant step up from her relatively uninteresting and one-dimensional character in the first film.
Luminous
The final frontier of ‘Twilight’ is the moon. The franchise has always used the moon as a symbol of ‘vampirism,’ so it’s only fitting that the culmination of all these years of passion and blood-sucking should culminate in a glorious sunset on the lunar surface. ‘Luminous’ continues the tradition by using the moon as a symbol of romantic fulfillment and sexual awakening. We are first introduced to a group of young women who have banded together to fight for their right to be ‘luminous,’ the female equivalent to a ‘twilight.’ Their leader is a free-spirited vampire named Eva (Stewart). She draws the attention of Griffin (Kroger), the ‘luminous’ who will become their leader. The story focuses on these daring young women as they explore their powers, question tradition, and discover the meaning of ‘luminous.’ ‘Luminous’ is set for release on April 10.
