Charlie Pattinson is an English actor and social media personality who rose to fame after appearing in the E! reality TV show, The Actors. Since then, he has appeared in films such as The Hunt and Billionaire Boys Club, and starred as Lancelot in the film adaptation of Queen Elizabeth’s legendary novel, The White Queen.
Is He An Actor Or Porn Star?
Pattinson’s official Twitter bio identifies him as an “actor, singer and songwriter”. However, his most recent acting gig was on the E! reality show, The Actors, which largely focused on his musical career. The show followed his journey from performing at small London clubs to opening for the Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga.
The Twitter bio also lists Pattinson’s “significant other” as being “Carrie Donovan”. If you’re unfamiliar, Carrie is the daughter of E! News host, Andy Cohen. This was the first time in over a decade that the “significant other” part of the bio had been included. It remains unclear whether or not this was an accident, or if the inclusion of this line was intentional. Nonetheless, it drew considerable attention on social media.
Will He Return As An Actor Or Porn Star?
Pattinson has not returned to acting since The Actors. However, that does not mean that he has entirely given up on the entertainment industry. In fact, he recently announced that he would be starring in a new film, Billionaire Boys Club. The film, which is set to premiere in 2020, will reunite him with his The Hunger Games producer, Lotta Crabtree. It also marks the directorial debut of Peter Bogdanovich, who is known for such classics as What’s Going On and The Big Chill.
Billionaire Boys Club marks the third time that Bogdanovich has worked with the young Englishman. Earlier this year, he directed Pattinson in a film adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. This project will also star Douglas Booth and Michael Gough. It premieres on May 30th, 2020.
The Hunt
Pattinson’s filmography also includes a part in the 2006 film, The White Queen, based on the bestselling novel by Philippa Gregory. The film is an adaptation of the classic tale of Queen Elizabeth and the hunt for the ‘Bruja’s’ (Witch’s) baby. The Queen reluctantly agrees to put her personal grudges aside and form a coalition with Sir Walter Raleigh to hunt down and destroy the ‘Bruja’s’ who have aligned with Spain’s Prince Philip against England. The film’s tagline is “For a few glorious weeks, the Queen is seduced by Spanish charm and awakens to find her country in flames”. It was released in theaters in 2007 and has been largely overshadowed by the recent resurgence of interest in the real Queen Elizabeth.
Other Known For
Besides acting, Pattinson is also known for his appearances on the English TV shows, Dancing with the Stars and The X Factor. He has also released several albums, including his debut solo album, Charlie P, in which he covers the work of classic composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Most notably, he covered the song “Chop Suey” by Herman’s Hermits and reached the top of the Billboard Top 100 in 2001 with the single “Treat You Better”. He has also collaborated with the band Coldplay on their song “Yellow”, which was featured in the movie, Green Lantern. In the band’s own words, “Yellow is about looking back on your life and realizing that everything you’ve ever done up until this point has prepared you for this very moment.”
A native of London, England, Pattinson was born on June 5th, 1983. He attended the prestigious Haberdasch English Language School, before going on to study English at the University of Oxford. After Oxford, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. There, he took on various small roles in television shows and films before landing his first feature film, The Hunt. The part led to more film and TV opportunities, and he eventually landed the role of Arthur Darville in the hit series, Downton Abbey.
