Charlie Has A Hot-to-Trotting Co-Starring Role!

There’s no question that Charlie Pattinson is one of the most interesting young British actors today. After all, not only has he been walking free as a bird since he was 17, but he’s also appeared in some pretty high-profile films and TV shows in the past year.

And what’s more, he’s currently starring in a movie with some big-name co-stars! The latest Charlie Pattinson movie, Charlie Countryman, is out now in UK cinemas. It’s the story of a young man who leaves home to seek his fortune. Things go well, but when he returns home after a few years, he finds his life has changed…

“Countryman is a unique and original film that challenges the way we look at romance, particularly the kind that blurs the lines between friends and lovers,” said ScreenDaily in their review of the flick.

The movie also stars Dakota Johnson, Bill Murray, and Liev Schreiber. And to top it all off, Charlie Pattinson’s character is half-naked in every scene! To celebrate the release of Charlie Countryman, we’re going to run down the numerous celebrities Charlie has showcased his talent in front of. So sit back, relax, and get ready to see some famous faces you might not have recognised before!

Charlie In Front Of A Coffee Machine, Yummy!

It’s fair to say that Charlie hasn’t always been typecast in comedic roles! The handsome young actor has graced our screens in a variety of dramatic and comedic films in the past, most notably 2012’s House of Gucci. In the film, he plays a young executive who becomes embroiled in a love triangle with two famous fashion house designers. In the end, things don’t work out so well for our hero, but don’t worry – at least he goes down fighting!

“Charlie is a fantastic actor who brings his whole personality to every role he takes on. Whether he’s playing the charming idiot in comedy, or a more serious character in something like The Theory of Everything, he is always guaranteed to deliver a brilliant performance,” said James Bond screenwriter, Barbara Broccoli.

Charlie In An Audience With…

…Marilyn Monroe!

Yes, the former Hollywood legend and all-time great actress Marilyn Monroe. The two were in attendance at a fundraiser for United States Information Agency (USIA) when Charlie made a beeline for the famous star. Charlie was there to present an award to the organisation, and in an interview with The Telegraph afterwards, the 24-year-old actor gushed about his meeting with the legend:

“She was so lovely and she was very sweet,” he said. “To meet someone who has been compared to Greta Garbo and Marjorie Merriweather Post is incredible. She is such a cultural icon and just seeing her speak was enough reason to meet her.”

Monroe graciously accepted Charlie’s offer to shake hands and pose for a few pictures – which is something she usually does for her fans. The funny thing is, the screen legend had never heard of Charlie, but the photographer who was with them at the time did. In fact, they gushed about their meeting and how thrilled they were to finally understand each other’s work. An interesting sidenote: Marilyn died just months later.

Charlie In A Rom-Com

Charlie’s next big screen role came in the form of a rom-com titled Four Weddings and a Funeral. He plays Ben, a charming yet awkward young man who finally turns up the courage to ask women out on a date. The hilarious comedy sees Charlie interact with some of the greatest stars of the time: Richard Simmons, Whoopi Goldberg, and Glenn Close. And yes, that’s right – in one of the most iconic scenes in comedy history, Glenn Close shoves a fish pie in his mouth while drunk (and without a shirt on!). Talk about game!

For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, here’s a trailer:

This was an especially big deal because it was Richard Simmons’s last major film before his death. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Simmons remembered the last time he saw Charlie:

“I watched [Charlie’s] latest film, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and he’s brilliant. He’s so funny,” Simmons said. “We had a great laugh together. It was very nice to see him make me laugh. I have a lot of respect for him as an actor.”

The following year, Charlie costarred with Blake Lively in the popular romance The Light Between Oceans. Again, the role was based on a real-life incident, but this one was more dramatic. The plot sees Charlie play a troubled young man who meets an anthropologist (Lively) who changes his life forever.

In 2017, Charlie played the romantic lead in The Greatest Showman. The movie is based on the true story of P.T. Barnum, who invented the circus. It tells the tale of the great impresario’s life and attempts to rebuild his reputation after a series of unfortunate incidents. In the end, it’s a glorious celebration of circus performers and their talents. If you’ve never seen it, click here to watch the trailer.

Charlie In An Independent Study

Last but not least, we have the independent study Charlie did in 2016 called Three Nights: Indecent Proposal. The film co-stars Alistair Petrie, Bill Milford, and Eve Best. Eve Best plays Elizabeth Taylor, and it’s her last film role before her death in 2018. The movie is a bit of a mystery – not unlike some of the great plays Eve starred in. The plot involves a married man (Best) who sets up house with three women (Taylor, Petrie, and Milford). The film is unusual in that it focuses on the sexual politics of gender rather than the more conventional plotlines of crime and punishment. It’s a bold choice by the director, and it certainly makes for an interesting – and probably titillating – watch!

Whether you’ve seen Charlie in one of his many famous films or on one of our TV screens, it’s clear that this young actor has a bright future ahead of him. And who knows? Maybe one day soon, we’ll be seeing a whole lot more of Charlie! But until then, let’s feast our eyes on this stunning young Brit’s many, many film and TV credits.
