Whether you love them or hate them, there is no denying that Hollywood’s It-Girls, Brendon Philips and Charlie Pattinson are a power couple. The blonde actress is best known for playing Kelly Taylor on the long-running American soap opera, General Hospital. While the hunky English actor has starred in numerous films and is most famous for his role as Alan Harper in the hit series, Shameless.

But it was not always a bed of roses for the young lovebirds; as they grew up in the spotlight, they had to face the public shaming of their parents’ divorce. Fortunately for them, both have since proved their adult worth and fame, and have managed to keep their private lives out of the tabloids. And though their relationship was initially met with a fair share of scepticism, it seems like the world has finally come around, and these two are the most desirable actors alive. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Childhood And Adolescence

If you were to meet Brendon and Charlie in real life, you would probably never guess they have been married for more than 30 years and have two children. The couple currently live in a grand mansion in London, and though they dote on their family, it is clear that they also love to entertain their socialite friends. Indeed, the actress has been known to host lavish galas where she has worn extravagant gowns and invited A-list stars.

Brendon was born Robert in London in 1959. His father, Reginald, was a wealthy socialite, while his mother, Lilli, was a Swiss woman. He has an older brother, Jonathan, and a younger sister, Elizabeth. While he enjoyed a privileged upbringing in London, he did not feel entirely comfortable in his own skin, and as a result, grew very close to his mother. In his early 20s, he dropped out of university and moved to Los Angeles in search of fame and fortune.

There he changed his name to Brendon and began appearing in low-budget B-movies. It was not long before he was landing leading roles in major films, and in 1995, he was named People’s Sexiest Male Alive. This was the beginning of what would become a string of hits, including the highest-grossing film of all time, Titanic, and the James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies. In 2013, he starred as Dick Cheney in the film, Vice, and was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture.

Charlie Pattinson was born Charles in London in 1967, and is the son of Sir Robert Pattinson, the British explorer and adventurer. He has a younger brother, Tom, and a sister, Alice. At the age of eleven, he moved with his family to Kenya, where his father was posted as an Ambassador. It was in Africa that Charlie first developed an interest in the wildlife and began to dream of living a life of adventure. Upon returning to the UK, he went to University and then travelled to New York to study acting. It was there that he secured a spot in the Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He then moved to Los Angeles to further his career.

The two were first spotted together in 1992 when they were both starring opposite each other in the film, Four Weddings And A Funeral. Since then, they have worked together on numerous films, and it seems like this talented couple never runs out of new projects. Most recently, they starred as Tom and Jerry in the film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Big Friendly Giant. This year also marked their return to the small screen in the form of their popular YouTube series, The Wilderness. The six-part series follows the adventures of two men as they trek through the wilderness in a bid to reach the summit of Mount Everest. It is a story that has captured the attention of millennials around the world.

Romantic And Parental Approval

Since their early years, both Brendon and Charlie have had to face public disapproval from their families. Their parents were initially opposed to their union, which many people perceived as a strange match considering they were both so different. It was not until Reginald accepted the relationship that they could finally marry, and so the couple wed in a secret ceremony in Italy in 2001. They continued to have to overcome opposition from their families, but eventually won them over.

It is well known that Reginald’s and Lilli’s divorce was one of the most shocking stories of the early 21st century. Rumours of infidelity abounded, and the family’s privacy was shattered in the process. But Charlie and Brendon have proven that love can conquer all, and the couple are happily married and have two children together, William and Alice. They also both have a special connection to London, and in 2018 they purchased the London house that was once the set of Downton Abbey. They now live a life that is both luxurious and exciting.

Despite their long-lasting relationship and two children, the couple remain childless by choice. As mentioned, they value their privacy, and though they are committed to each other, they believe that having children would change their lives forever. They are also dedicated to the welfare of animals, and have both been vocal about their opposition to animal testing and are both active in supporting animal charities. Their passion for wildlife has seen them open up a zoo in their native England, which they have called Zoi Sadowski-Synnott’s Mini London.

Modern-Day Hero-Worshipping

The media has always had a fascination with the rich and famous, and it was not long before the media spotlight fell upon the young and beautiful couple. In 2012, the couple were both named among the Time 100 Most Influential People In The World, and the next year they were both placed on the Time 100 Most Influential People In The World list again. In both cases, they beat out a host of Hollywood heavyweights, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Elizabeth Taylor. Most recently, they were named to the Time 100 Most Influential People In The World once more, this time ahead of the premier of the James Bond film, No Time To Die. The couple are widely respected in the field of wildlife conservation, and over the years their fame and celebrity have seen them become major players in this movement. In 2019 alone, they have both been involved in campaigns to protect elephants and rhinos from extinction, and have lent their support to organisations like the WildCRU and Save The Rhino. They are both patrons of the International Rhino Foundation, and each year donate significant amounts of money and time to this important cause. In 2021, Charlie and Brendon will be seen in the upcoming film, Once Upon A Time In Chittagong, where they play journalists who are caught in the middle of a war between Bengali and Pakistani villagers. This years’ promises to be just as exciting as the previous ones, as these two continue to prove that good things come in pairs.
