Welcome to the black book of the year 2019!

I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Robert Pattinson, but his public life is certainly taking a back seat to his private one at the moment. The actor is currently focused on maintaining his health and well-being after publicly battling alcohol addiction for several years. He’s now determined to make a comeback and prove his critics wrong – by keeping a particularly black book of pictures and memories close to his heart.

The Early Years

In the early 2000s, Robert Pattinson was one of the most in-demand young actors in Hollywood. He rose to prominence overnight when he was cast as Edward Cullen in the blockbuster film Twilight, based on the bestselling young adult novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. The story follows a young woman who finds herself magically bound to a series of unfortunate genetic mismatches – including a handsome young man who finds her irresistible and becomes determined to claim her as his own.

The film was a huge success and established Robert Pattinson as a major movie star. As if to underline the point, he was named Sexiest Man Alive by Time magazine in 2012.

The following year he starred in two other box office smashes: the action adventure Robbie, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by James Patterson, and the romantic comedy Honeymoon, opposite Kate Winslet and Jack Reynor. Not content with just playing the bad boy, in 2019 we see him play an even bigger role – father.

Fatherhood

In October 2018, it was announced that Robert Pattinson had become a father for the first time. The proud new dad revealed that he and his wife, Kristen, had welcomed their first child, a daughter named Léa Maria. It was an extremely touching moment for the couple, and fans were quick to offer congratulations.

However, it seems the new family member wasn’t meant to stay little for long. Just a few short weeks later, another baby bump was spotted on the star’s Instagram account. Again, the micro-blogging platform was awash with well-wishers wishing the new parents every happiness.

Health

It was previously reported that Robert Pattinson had received treatment for his alcoholism. The actor has now confirmed this and revealed that he’s been sober since June 2018.

He’s since remained dedicated to maintaining his health and well-being and even started a support group for fellow alcoholics called Diversions (formerly known as D.A.D.). The 45-year-old admitted that he initially struggled to overcome his drinking problem alone, but now that he’s been helped by professional counselors, he’s hopeful about the future.

Black Book

It seems that Robert Pattinson isn’t ready to let the pendulum of fortune swing too far in the other direction. The actor has hinted that he may be working on a book about his life and experiences, and in an interview with Hello! Magazine he admitted that he was keeping a “particularly black book” (his words) of memories and pictures for inspiration.

“I’m keeping a particularly black book of memories and pictures for inspiration,” the actor said. “Whether I’ll actually use any of it in the book, I don’t know yet. But it’s nice to have something like this to look back on when you’re older.”

What’s Next?

With a solid foundation now in place, it’s safe to say that Robert Pattinson’s career is more than impressively intact. He’s appeared in some of the biggest budget films of all time and continues to delight audiences with his wry banter and brooding good looks.

It’s clear that the 45-year-old is still extremely determined to make the most of his career and carve out a place for himself in Hollywood. While he’s not been seen in any films since Léa Maria was born, we can only hope that he continues to stay sober and healthy.
