Robert Pattinson is undoubtedly one of the most gorgeous men around. The actor, whose real name is Robert Willoughby, graced the cover of People magazine in December 2012 (as seen in the photo above) and has been named the sexiest man alive by Elle magazine. Not content with just one title, the British tabloid The Daily Mail even named Robert Pattinson the Greatest Living British Man, describing him as a modern day George Clooney.

Whether you agree with the claims of greatness or not, Robert Pattinson is certainly one of the most attractive men in Hollywood. Even more so after he made the switch to acting full-time, dropping the famous tag of “socialite” from his previous incarnations in the entertainment world. Nowadays, we’re seeing a lot more of Pattinson on the big screen than we did prior to the start of 2012. Most notably, he’s currently starring in the highly anticipated adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling Twilight Saga – simply titled The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – which hits theaters on March 18th, with its world premiere taking place this Friday in London. We were lucky enough to speak with Robert Pattinson about his upcoming role as well as his thoughts on the fashion industry and Hollywood politics in the modern day.

Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – What Can We Expect?

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is the conclusion to the four-part adaptation of Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling Twilight Saga, which has now been seen by more than 500 million people worldwide. The final installment features an all-star cast including Bradley Cooper, Michael Caine, and Jon Stewart. Not only will it be the culmination of a fantastic series, it will also be the most expensive film ever made. In order to fund it, Twlight fans have been launching a #RenewTwilightChallenge, trying to raise $12.99. So far, almost $15 million has been pledged towards the movie’s budget.

Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga has been one of the most successful series of novels in history, selling more than 75 million copies worldwide and spawning a movie franchise that includes four blockbuster films so far. If you haven’t read the books, you really should consider doing so – they are some of the most poignant, romantic, and entertaining tales ever told. The Twilight Saga is set in present day Portland, where Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart, returns home to Forks after a summer working in Tokyo. On the way, she stops into a random hardware store and meets Emmett – a hipster garage-maker who becomes her boyfriend. Afterward, they head to Pembrooke Park, where Emmett proposes to Bella.

It was only a matter of time before the makers of Twilight approached Kristen Stewart with the idea of joining the franchise. It was either her or Dakota Fanning, who plays Alice, Bella’s younger sister. Stewart accepted the role of Bella, but had to turn down a part in the upcoming Bond film, Spectre, due to scheduling conflicts. The actress will next be seen in the comedy-drama, Coffee With Casey, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and James Caan, before taking on the role of Bella in Breaking Dawn. Coffee With Casey premieres this Friday in New York City.

What Is Your Favorite Fashion Designer?

While he hasn’t always been recognized for his excellent taste in fashion, Robert Pattinson has a pretty fashionable sense when it comes to picking out clothes. The British actor has collaborated with some of the most well-known designers from around the world, including Marc Jacobs, Burberry, and Versace. For his part, Jacobs referred to Pattinson as “one of the most fashionable actors of our time” and said that working with the actor was like “collaborating with a fashion genius.”

While we can’t speak for every designer, it’s clear that Robert Pattinson appreciates a good suit. In fact, he’s credited with helping to bring the three-piece suit back after many decades of decline. Back in the 1960s, the three-piece suit was considered unfashionable and was often associated with dull office jobs and uptight corporate executives. Thanks in part to Robert Pattinson, however, the three-piece suit has become a bit of a fashion darling in recent years. Today, you’ll commonly see celebrities wearing the classic look, including Lady Gaga, Amanda Seyfried, and Gwyneth Paltrow. While the three-piece suit has seen something of a comeback, it certainly hasn’t gone out of style.

Fashion And Style Are Political

It might not come as a total shocker that fashion and style are political, especially with the current administration in Washington. After all, as The New York Times put it, the fashion industry “has always been intertwined with politics.” Even if you aren’t particularly interested in fashion, chances are you’ve still heard of designers like Armani and Prada. What was once considered unfashionable – a complete suit, for instance – is now considered a status symbol. It’s all about perception and how we as a society define beauty and fashion. In politics, as in fashion, “shrill” is the new “scared”.

It isn’t just the administration that’s taking a keen interest in fashion and style, either. Several members of Congress have expressed interest in fashion policy, saying that it can play a crucial role in helping women and girls enter the workforce. During a House floor debate in May 2012, Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL) said that the fashion industry could be an invaluable source of information about women’s issues, like pay equity and child labor. She added that she hoped the industry would use its influence to help change outdated perceptions about women and work. In particular, she pointed to the “boycott” dress call that’s become all the rage on social media, urging the fashion industry to take part in the political discussion about women’s rights. In response to Rep. Frankel’s comment, President Obama made headlines when he said that he liked a “rosy” cheek on a “girl” and encouraged young women to “go for it.”

As a society, we need to continue debating the issues surrounding women’s rights and empowerment. It’s up to the fashion industry to help make this happen.

On Hollywood Politics In The Modern Day: Is Anyone Actually Suing Anyone Else For Alleged Copyright Infringement?

It wasn’t that long ago that the phrase “I’m sorry, but that’s plagiarism!” meant you’d gone too far in adapting a story or ripping off a character. These days, it could mean you’re breaking a copyright law.

Thanks to the success of the Twilight Saga, Robert Pattinson has now become a target of intellectual property lawyers. As a result, he’s had to hire bodyguards to protect him from fans seeking retribution for the films’ fictional content. While protecting the livelihood of creators is a noble cause, it doesn’t do much for your personal safety. After all, fans can be really protective and passionate about their favorite stories, especially when it comes to celebrities they idolize.

Whether or not you’ve ever heard of the term “intellectual property,” you certainly know what it means. If you watch a movie or TV show and think that a part could’ve been improved or that an idea was stolen, you have the right to complain to the media business that produced the content you’re watching. Most importantly, you have the right to sue. Hollywood is a town filled with famous, wealthy, and generally protected clients. It isn’t as if you’re going up against an individual pro wrestler or model. If you’ve got a good case, you stand a chance of winning.

Though most of the lawsuits filed are targeted towards the big-name celebrities, it isn’t exactly a coincidence that they’re the ones most likely to be targeted. After all, as we’ve established, Hollywood is a town filled with litigious individuals and intellectual property lawyers. Attorneys for the entertainment industry are skilled at identifying potential infringements and taking legal action against them. Though they may not always win, it’s generally considered pretty safe to assume that they’ll make you fight for what’s yours.
