You’re going to want to dress up like Batman and Robin after you watch this video. Let’s be honest, the Dynamic Duo have been through a lot as characters over the years – both good and bad – and it’s about time they got a swish new suit to continue their crime-fighting in. So without further ado, here are Batman & Robin’s gorgeous new suit designs that will have you itching to be a superhero.

The New Classic Look

It’s about time that Batman & Robin got a new look and vibe, and director Matt Reeves’ answer is a classy, yet rugged combination of traditional and fashionable elements. The Dark Knight director shares with us that the inspiration for the latest suit design comes from the 1940s, adding that “We wanted to evoke both the classic movie heroes and the darker aspects of the character, without being too literal.” While the dark suit covers most of Batman’s iconic features – the cape, the cowl, the shoes, and the pants – the cinematic hero still wears a recognizable yellow shirt with black and white diamond patterned shirt sleeves and a black collar. The iconic “A” emblem on the chest is also presented in an abstract pattern that mirrors the motifs seen on the dark suit’s shirt and cape.

Rocking The Dark Knight

Even though we’ve been grumpily complaining about this sequel for a while, it’s still one of the best superhero movies of all time. It’s funny, exciting, and the jokes land perfectly. One of the best things about the film is its costume design, which shares a lot with Reeves’ vision for the new suit. On the surface, it looks like a normal black suit with a couple of twists. First, there’s the collar, which sees the light for the first time in the movie. Second, there’s the pattern on the sleeves, which is made up of a pink triangle on a black background. The director shows us that these details can be used to highlight Batman’s power as the movie’s main villain, the Joker, tries to manipulate and control him. Third, there’s the dark blue color of the suit and the cape, which again serves as a reminder of the Joker’s dominance. Most importantly, the caped crusader dons a pair of sunglasses, which are more reminiscent of an older Al caped crusader than a traditional Batman or modern Batman.

Who Wore It Best?

We compared the fit and finish of the Daredevil, Suicide Squad, and Batman & Robin suits and came away impressed by how the former two fit closely together – especially considering that both are made of wool. All three are very similar in terms of the silhouette, with the silhouette of the Batman & Robin suit being a slightly refined version of that of the Suicide Squad suit. The best thing about this particular comparison is that it gives us an idea of how the suits would look on a real person instead of a doll. For a closer look, check out the comparison photos below.

The Classic Timeless Look

This is the suit that everybody wants to be in right now. Despite its current popularity, the style is still highly wearable by modern-day men and is completely classic in its design. Let’s be honest, when it comes to classic looks, men’s suits haven’t really changed all that much over the years. The best thing about this timeless look is that the designers didn’t have to rush to fit perfectly into the “in” trends of today, which means that the design still looks fresh and fashionable after all these years. This is one gorgeous suit that won’t go out of style anytime soon.
