Yes, Robert Pattinson is officially dating a new girl! The handsome actor announced the exciting news on Instagram, confirming a romance with singer-songwriter Alicia Keys.
The British actor, 31, was previously linked to model Florence Welch and artist Jenny Sinclair. However, he has always managed to keep his private life quiet. Apart from his rumoured relationships, he has mostly stayed in the shadows, known for his acting and music careers. So, it was quite a shock when he revealed that he has a new girlfriend.
Rumours about his dating life started circulating after he appeared to be spotted with singer-songwriter Alicia Keys at a private dinner party in London in April 2019. Since then, it’s been speculated that the pair may be dating, with some even going as far to suggest that they are engaged. But the British actor has always managed to keep his private life quiet, so it came as a great surprise when he finally made the announcement about his new girlfriend on social media.
The dinner party was hosted by singer-songwriter Storm Eleanor and featured a number of famous faces. Guests included fashion designer Philipp Plein, actor David Harbour and DJ Maksim Chmerkovskiy. While attendees have yet to confirm whether or not the pair were indeed an item, they certainly posed for photographers on several occasions as they enjoyed a night out together.
‘Alicia Is A Singer-Songwriter, I’m Just An Actor’
Pattinson took to Instagram to share a sweet love letter to his new girlfriend and also revealed that he had surprised her with tickets to the premiere of his latest film, Beautiful People.
The letter begins: “Hey gorgeous, I’m writing you a letter because I couldn’t say it to your face. When I saw you for the first time I thought to myself ‘this is the woman I’m going to marry.'”
It continues: “I am an actor and I am also a singer-songwriter. My wife and I sing together and she is also my music manager. She looks after all my business affairs. So I’m basically a man with two families. We have a lot of laughs together though and we make each other very happy.”
Then, he gives the letter a more personal touch, writing: “You are the best woman I’ve ever known. You’re kind and you make everyone around you happy. You’re the strongest person I know and you’re going to do amazing things. I love you so much.”
The letter ends with a special dedication from the actor: “To my beautiful wife, Hannah. My best friend. My sister. My daughter. You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me and I couldn’t be happier to spend the rest of my life with you.”
Romantic Night Out?
Ahead of the premiere of Beautiful People, Pattinson shared an adorable photo of himself and his wife, Hannah, on social media. In the shot, the couple are seen gazing into each other’s eyes as they enjoy a romantic night out.
It was initially speculated that the pair were celebrating the success of their film, but it was subsequently revealed that they had gone to the movies to see God’s Not Dead 2. While the first film was a hit and made $24 million at the box office in the US alone, its sequel only managed to eek out a meagre $16 million. The discrepancy in earnings led to a lawsuit from the producer of the first film. In the suit, Scott Beckwith alleged fraud and misrepresentation, claiming that he was misquoted in the credits for God’s Not Dead and that he was not involved with the sequel at all.
But that didn’t stop fans from speculating about the couple’s future. While many were hoping for a glimpse of the much-hyped engagement ring, it wasn’t until now that the couple have finally confirmed their relationship. And what an entrance it was!
‘This Is An Opportunity To Grow’
In another Instagram post, Alicia Keys revealed that she had been given the opportunity to work with an incredible artist like Pattinson and had to “say no thank you, I’m a singer”- which she admitted was a lie, as she actually writes songs and performs them. She continued: “This is an opportunity to grow and be inspired. Thank you for considering me.”
The singer also showed off her new single “Girl On My Mind”, revealing that she had written it especially for this album. Before the song, she had teased fans with the album’s title, “Alicia.”
The song is an upbeat pop tune with a repetitive hook – “Girl, on my mind. Girl, on my mind. Girl, on my mind. Girl, on my mind.” – that will no doubt become a hit with fans of the singer. “Girl On My Mind” will be included on Alicia’s upcoming ninth album, which is due for release in the fall of 2021.
Long Distance Relationship
While the couple have yet to meet in person, they have been communicating over the phone and through text messages ever since. It has been revealed that they first spoke a year ago, with Hannah calling the actress just to ask how her day was going.
“I was just so overwhelmed that she had bothered to call me and make such an effort to reach out. Because we hadn’t spoken for such a long time and I don’t get to talk to her very often, so it made me feel really happy that she had called and wanted to know how I was and if I was still doing well,” Pattinson told Harper’s Bazaar.
The distance between the couple has not been a hindrance to their romance, with Hannah even travelling to London to see her boyfriend. In fact, Pattinson has been so eager to show off his city that he has shared multiple Instagram videos from his hotel room. He has also been busy working on new music for his upcoming album, which will be his first since 2014’s Good Things. The singer has teased new tracks, including “Liar”, and shared an evocative picture of the London skyline on social media, tagging Alicia in the caption.
While both parties have kept their relationship under wraps, they have been photographed together on numerous occasions. In one of their earliest public appearances as a couple, the pair were photographed strolling through a London park in February 2021. Just last month, they were seen together in London once more, this time enjoying an intimate night out. Whether or not they continue to enjoy a long distance relationship remains to be seen. But for now, it’s clear that their love is as strong as ever.
