Robert Pattinson’s Photo Looking Down
While most of the world was asleep, the Hollywood stars were having fun on the sets of their upcoming movies. One of the movies was The Great Gatsby, and one of the stars was none other than Robert Pattinson. The pair were set to shoot some romantic scenes, and it didn’t take long for the paparazzi to show up. The actor was soon photographed with his hand on the small of his lover’s back, looking down at her with adoration. The image became known as ‘The Hand-on-the-Back Look’, and it’s been making headlines ever since.
The Great Gatsby will be released on Valentine’s Day, March 19th, 2017. If you’re looking for a romantic gift for your loved one, consider getting them the book or the film. It’s the perfect way to show them how much you care.
Scorpion And Miss Sixty Tie The Knot
It’s been a tough year for Arpels, the British-owned jewel company. Sales dropped by 38% in 2016, and the firm is now valued at just £7.9 billion. Nevertheless, the firm remains committed to making high-end jewellery for individual customers. One of the most exclusive pieces they produce is the Scorpion, a rare-gold-rimmed diamond and sapphire necklace. It takes a skilled gemologist six weeks to set up an order of this magnitude.
Beesley Quarries in Staffordshire are the source of the sapphire in question. It takes a 100-metre-long tube to extract the sapphire, which is then cut and polished into the shape of a scorpion. Most people would be content with a simple diamond, but the company’s website shares the passion that leads to such extravagance: “The more elaborate and the more precise the design, the more complex and unusual the diamond, the more attractive it is to us as shoppers.” We couldn’t put it better ourselves!
The couple had been dating for several months before they decided to wed. It seems that their busy schedules facilitated their romance. While Taylor was filming The Great Gatsby, they would meet for secret evenings in Paris. In order to keep their romance a secret, they agreed to a moratorium on dating other people. It was only after she finished filming that she began to see other performers. Arpels have honoured this special moment by naming the piece of jewellery after them. We’re sure that Taylor will be wearing this exquisite piece of craftsmanship for many years to come.
Vogue’s Senior Photographer Marches On
It’s been a big year for fashion, and Victoria Beckham was in the thick of it. The designer had a hand in almost every runway show this year, including her own brand’s. It’s fair to say that her influence is tangible. Just look at how the runways compare to her famous style magazine, Vogue. The September issue was all about her design collaboration with Mihara Yasuhiro for a capsule collection of shoes and handbags. The collection was focused on creating a ‘modern twist’ on traditional Japanese styling. One of the shoes in question is named after her, and it’s a style that has been touted as “future classics” by the fashion house.
It seems that the designer’s hand was all over the place in 2016. But that’s not to say that she wasn’t selective about the projects she chose to work on. In March of this year, she launched a capsule collection of jewellery and eyewear designed by Maria Borges. It’s fair to say that it’s a style that Victoria would recognise. Borges is the founder of Melbourne-based eyewear brand, 3i. The designer had seen her work and knew that she was the perfect choice to bring her feminine style and exquisite craftsmanship to the table.
Marriage Is Uniquely Special
It seems that some couples are just meant to be together. After dating for more than a year, Will and Kate’s engagement was made public in December 2015. Since then, the couple have been busy gathering their families and friends for intimate ceremony-filled weekends in London. What’s more is that they’ve managed to keep their privacy, avoiding the press and keeping their marriage fairytale.
This past year has been a massive one for British fashion, and London was the hub of it all. It seems that the fashion capital was quite active; new restaurants, bars, and fashion-related businesses opened in the city, giving it a fresh shine. So while we wait for next year to bring more exciting news, these are some pretty sweet gestures to keep us going.
