Who Moves On Better – Rob or Kristen?
With all the Twilight hype surrounding Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and even though Pattinson has How To Be and Remember Me under his belt and Stewart just finishing up The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys’ some wonder if one of the stars will have a lucrative career post Twilight than the other.
“Kristen’s performance always pulls you out, whichever film she’s in. You forget that she even was in Twilight. Rob…not so much.”
Now put away your stakes R.Pattz lovers, this isn’t a dig at our boy’s actingability. What apparently has a few execs concerned—at Summit, for instance—is that Pattinson’s Remember Me persona is quite similar to what many have already enjoyed Rob in (just look at the pics): the brooding, troubled outcast. You know, head down, heart troubled.
Wecould watch Rob read a phone book and not get bored, and that goes for Twi-hards who love Pattinson in anything, too.
What our studio insider tells us is just the littlest bit worrisome: that R.M. won’t bring in a new audience, which K.Stew apparently does with her upcoming film The Runaways.
In Rob’s defense, people have already seen Kristen in many mainstream versatile roles (Panic Room, Into the Wild, Adventureland), while Rob’s range is hidden in more indie movies like Little Ashes, which had a limited release.
What will be interesting to watch will be the box office in March. Kristen’s film, The Runaways, comes out March 19 while Rob’s movie Remember Me gets a release date a week earlier on March 12.

Rob had the bigger movies that should catapult him to super stardom as soon as they are finished. I, for one, cannot wait to see Remember Me and I will be buying the video when it comes out. Not interested in seeing Kristen’s movies. Sorry.
Kristen performance in Twilight didn’t make any lasting impression. That’s why it’s easy not to associate here with Bella only; she is just another girl, while Rob is good and convincing as Edward. And it’s obviously is going to be a problem for his future.
…one more thing… if we really want to look at Kristen’s characters in her indie films, she plays a lot of the same type of character. The brooding misguided teen, don’t get me wrong, nothing against her and I plan to watch all of them, as I really do like her and respect her. However, I think the article above is VERY unfair to Rob. He is and has played very versatile roles and if Summit execs haven’t figured that out yet, than God help them!!
Im dont care robert patz movie! Not interested!
Kristen stewart movie RUNAWAYS is COOL!!!!! wow
Please don’t tell me someone’s actually getting paid for writing this article that says nothing except that there are new films with KS and RP.
@Ritzz…Are you aware of who’s blog this is for???? If you don’t care about Robert Patz’s movies than find another blog to occupy–this is for fans of Robert’s!!
AGGGGH!!! I Don’t believe I actually have to say that!!
I have seen almost every Kristen Stewart movie, some on purpose and some just because they were on, and I feel like I am watching the same character. I know she has said she brings something of herself to every role, but take for instance Twilight. This was the first movie I remember seeing her in (I had seen others before, not realizing it was her) and then I went to see Adventureland in the theaters. Same freaking person. She plays with her hair, she bites her lip, she shrugs and stutters. I saw her in Cake Eaters. Physically she was different because she was playing a disabled character, but again same facial expressions, same tentative approach.
I have seen almost every Robert Pattinson movie. After Twilight, I sought out seeing his movies. I attended How To Be at a local film festival, I found the one theater in my area showing Little Ashes. I don’t see Edward in those performances. Rob is better at transitioning. He doesn’t seem like the same person. Kristen does. I am not sure if thats good or bad, it just is, but personally I don’t want to see Bella (the first role I identified with Kristen) in every movie. I love Joan Jett, have since I was a little kid and watched her videos on MTV. I don’t know if I want to see how Kristen plays her. But I know I will be at Remember Me on opening night!
First of all @Ritzz…WHY are you on this site?? Does Rob threaten the credibility of your precious Kristen so much that you have to waste YOUR time commenting on the blog of an actor that YOU dislike….get a bloody grip you tit…Anyway….let’s move on to more important things….I’m sick and tired of people trying to pit these two against each other. I have NO interest in KStew personally or professionally..Rob is the only one of interest to me. Couldn’t give a toss whether they’re ‘together’ or not – he’ll learn (unfortunately the hard way)- either way.
Moving on….Kristin is in a win win situation….whether she’s good or bad….she will ALWAYS have work lined up because her people are ‘in the industry’…Rob on the other hand is a different kettle of fish…he’s new to all of this, he didn’t work between Twilight and New Moon and in the eyes of the industry has to ‘prove himself’ and there are a lot of jealous people out there just waiting to tear him down. I pray that he has a very thick skin because he’ll need it.
The only reason this article was written was for the reaction that is evident on this site. It was written to enrage Robert fans.. and satisfy those who don’t see the attraction. . What really gets to me is the fact that Robert and Kristen are being compared to each other… of course.. they’ve been linked romanitcally..that is getting old now so they’ll pit them against each other… it makes news.. and gets people heated (obviously) it keeps them both in the news…
Kristen has an established career.. blinky, lip biting.. I quite like some of her stuff.. and she’s gone for the ’safe’ indie path as critiques are expected.. and hey ‘it’s indie.. it isn’t supposed to be popular’… Rob on the other hand isn’t as well known outside of Harry Potter.. (and away from his loyal fans).. so to the laymen hes’ gone from one huge franchise to another.. they don’t realise that he did it for the money!.. to be honest.. if he could go back in time and know he could do his music annoymously and a few movies guaranteed every year.. I wonder if he would?… I get the impression that Rob has no interest in fame or even fortune.. he doesn’t seem like a typical Taurean -materialistic-… and I am guessing that he is going to be slated for everything he does post Twilight… I personally think he brought Edward to life exactly as Stephenie Meyer had written him.. and for that he’s won the acting award for me..Salvador Dali was admirable… and Art in How To be.. couldn’t be more removed from Edward if he tried!!!..
Jealousy is a terrible part of the Hollywood scene..they build people up and when the success exceeds their wishes.. they’ll tear them down faster than they got there.. However, I can’t imagine Summit saying anything negative against their golden boy..they’ve hit the big time with Twilight and anything else that Robert agrees to sign on to with them….. but Rob will be slated.. and he’s going to get it HUGE… Kristen on the other hand won’t be.. because she was the little girl who starred alongside Jodie Foster.. the rest of her career is safe… no matter how blinky, lip biting and repetitive she gets… (reminds me of another actress whom I despise the most.. and is always exactly the same… Keira Knightley.. meh)…
Rob.. your fans love you.. YOU.. not Edward.. but YOU.. and we appreciate and look forward to seeing your talents.. I just hope you listen to the positives and tell the negatives to take a long jump off a large cliff..
**Crap.. sorry. .didn’t realise I’d written that much until I’d hit Submit!!..
The difference between them is Rob actually has TALENT!
….And a personality. And can EMOTE.
I agree with most of you, sorry Ritzz, do think the Runaway’s looks like it’s worth watching and am eager to see it, Kristen does play the same character in most of her movies. I have read that she is getting rave reviews at Sundance, but again, it’s the same character.
On the other hand, the author of the article forgot Robert will be in two new movies, each character different from the next. I think the difference between the two of them, is that Robert has nothing to lose and is not afraid of taking chances in chosing challenging roles. Until Kristen walks away from her comfort zone, she will always be raved about, but never celerbrated.
I think Robert has a bright future if he continues acting. He’s eager to learn and he is someone that is able to transform into his character on screen.
Rob is real passionate about his career and the characters he portrays…..this article is slanderous…….I get the feeling they are trying to make Kristen out to be a better actress than Rob is an actor………….well hell no, I am not falling for that crap….she just has that same blandness from the one movie to the next……..nothing about her gets me excited…….she just has that monotone buzz about her……like when a heart machine goes flatline??…..well that’s about what Kristen does for me in her movies……..whereas Rob makes me curious to go see
his stuff………because he puts everything he has into his characters…….and that is what makes him the better actor here……….Kristen just goes on being herself like her real life self…….can’t deal with that ………sorry!!
I tottaly agree with michelle SA. That girl has the same face expressions on evey single movie she plays. And what the hell is that with the lip licking all the time?
Runaways is getting the acclaim because of Dakota Fanning – apparently she steals the show. Summit is worried about not bringing a wider audience for R Patz…but do they realise just a big a fan base he actually has. They always focus on “teens” – but I am 35, and I know I am not alone!
Dakota Fanning has actually been a tremendously talented actress practically since her potty training days. I give Kristen points for bravery for placing herself in the siutation of acting beside her in a movie. You cannot even compare the two. Like apples and oranges.
If Kristin really wanted to prove to others and mainly herself, that she has some acting chops, she needs to stear completely away from the maintstream movies that she typically chooses to star in. Enough of the troubled, brooding characters. How ’bout a comedy! I’d love to see if she could pull that off. Doubt it, but love to see it.
Rob, on the other hand, I have no doubt would be able to handle that type of role reversal. In fact, I think he would be wonderful in a comedy. His timing, facial expressions, physical mannerisms could all come into play and would result in a phenomenal performance. A new age Cary Grant! OMG, he could star in a remake of Arsenic and Old Lace! Okay…okay…to all you young folks out there, If you’ve never heard of the movie or of Cary Grant (gasp! Shame on you!), I recommend you rent the DVD and then picture Rob as the lead. He’d be perfect!
To all you “mildly older” folks that do remember CG and the movie, what do you think?
By the way, before everyone starts thinking that I’m already collecting my Social Security checks, please note that I know of CG only because I like to watch the classics. CG was way before my time. Charm, class and sexiness is timeless though.
It’s still hard to comprehend Summit’s evaluation. After having earned an incredibe amount of money from the Twilight saga with more to be made in the wings, they have doubts about our guy. Perhaps they’re just greedy enough to float that line because they know Rob’s fans are such a solid base and so earnest about showing support for him that more of the fans will see RM more than they did Twilight or NM. That will effectively line their pockets again.
Doesn’t really matter what they doubt, think, or say. Rob is here to stay. Rob has great talent. Rob has just begun. Buckle your seatbelts, it’s going to be a great ride.
Can this young man act? Just watch the Haunted Airman. You forget it’s Robert Pattinson.
Rob may pick similar roles/characters but Kristen’s acting is the same in every movie, no matter how different her characters are (I’m sorry I have nothing against her but it’s true). Plus Kristen tends to pick the low budget indie films. Where as I can see Rob picking big budget blockbuster ones as well.
Emma, I so agree with you on the new Cary Grant. I know it’s too soon, but I do think that Rob will be a legend one day. Right there with CG or James Dean.
His whole career is ahead of him and if you think of his films in making, he keeps chosing wisely.
I think people don’t realize how many fans he has. They always talk anout Twilight Mums or teens, but I’m not either and the same goes for my friends and I bet we’re not the only ones.
Also, I think people will come around as I did. As I said before, I discovered Twilight last November, not more than three months ago. I didn’t want to read or see it as “it was this teen saga, about vampires, I would never like something like that”, I noticed Rob online in ads for TWL articles and when I first heard about Remember me, I was so excited to see Emilie on a big screen! I didn’t care that Rob would be there, too. To me, he was the new Zac Elfon as all I knew about him was that girls loved him the same way. But a friend told me to check the film, so I bought the book first.
Three weeks later (after finishing Eclipse and the first movie) I was searching the net for all things Rob (and chose this blog among tons of others as “my Rob homepage”) and I think I’ve seen all Rob’s interviews available on YT .
Today, I’m still here and the Robsession is not going away. For me, it started with the book, it was Edward& Bella and their love at first, but now, it’s all about Rob and his career. Now, what I wish for most is Rob in West End but when I see all his projects lining up, I’m getting bit pessimistic.
Ooooooh, Kizzie, that was written sooooooooooo cute!! Kinda liked it a lot.
Rob would be perfect as Cary Grant in Arsenic and Old Lace, one of the classics.
oh rob is super guy
There are a lot of actors who have played in roles that are part of a saga, and yes I believe he will get other roles and enjoy being a great actor after the saga is over. Kristen Stewart great actor but compered too Rob who will pull of the last two movies. I don’t believe Kristen Stawert can pull of the last Saga in the books
I am just as they said, not to copy anyone “He could read a phone book ” and I’d be listening or watching…I don’t care what he feels like doimng, play piano, smile, grumble, scowl, hiss groan..lol if he is doing it, I will be paying attention.
He is a man, young yes, but not compared to the age he was playing..Gosh almighty he didn’t belong made up like a teenager…in parts of Twilight he looked very much like a man.
Kristen is a pretty little thing, but she is what? 18 whatever? If he likes her that is ok by me too…
@Cade, Bettsy and Kizzie – Two words for you guys…WELL SAID!!!! You guys have hit the nail on the head!!
Rob is a very talented actor and versitile…I watched him in Harry Potter and I didn’t know who he was, and then I saw him uin Twilight and it wasn’t until a friend of mine pointed out that he was the same person that I made the connection!! His acting style differs SOOOO much!!! You can’t connect him from one charachter to the next, he’s that good!
Kristen, although I do think she is a good actress, but I do agree with you, she has chosen roles which are too similar, but I do believe that she has the potential to grow into something more if she actually gave it a try!! Choose some different script, Kristen and then we’ll rate you!!!
Rob, Keep up the great work! You may not be all that you can be right now, but Damn, man…You are certainly well on your way to proving the critics that you are just as good as the likes of Pierce Brosnan, George Clooney, Brad Pitt etc, not to mention 100000 times better looking!! Your fans love you and will always be loyal to you!! All the best for a sparkling future!!! xx
