Vote For Rob!
Hello Magazine extended their voting for most attractive male, but Rob is losing ground!
Since the vote was extended Hugh Laurie has gone from 47000 votes to 78000 in three days. Yesterday his fans added over 17,000 votes while Rob fans are adding a steady 5,000 each day.
Now he’s only 10,000 away from Rob, so VOTE!.
He wants you to. Really.

Thanks!
ha.. I don’t think I need to vote to know who I think is the hottest man on the planet!. I don’t need Hello to tell me that!.. please.. Hugh Laurie?????.. come on! he was the nerd from Black Adder!…
it’s something different now. Russian fans say ” we want to beat American fans voting for Pattinson”. isn’t what stupid? yeah we know who the most attractive man is but i still want him to win so badly, at least once!!! there are only three more days, no more than once in ten min and you always can use diff e-mail addresses.

@just me, you dont have to wait 10 minutes to vote, just clear your cookies!
OK…. gotcha.. can’t let those peskie Ruskie’s get their way!.. LOL.. (I have Russian friends.. not slating me please.. it was a joke)
I’m voting… lots…
keep voting guys!! open different browsers and vote as many times faster….
I’ve been at it all day!… and the gap is getting closer.! ha.. can’t believe I’ve been doing this.. 4,000 away.. those Russians are on a mission..
I hope they’ll do the recount and delete HL’s votes as I doubt they vote fair. I hope once they do the recount, Rob’d still win.
But he was so ahead all the time, he has to. I don’t know where are all the HL’s votes coming from now.
mmm.. something fishy going on.. and why did they extend it for three days?..
Anyway!..changing the subject. I’ve just seen the following picture.. and actually felt a panic attack FOR Rob!!.. can you even IMAGINE having that many camera’s pointed at you all the time? for everything you do?.. just look in the background!..

He’s not first
Hi everyone! Question for you all which is totally unrelated to the story written above. I’ve just finished watching Twilight for the 16th time and still get confused over one thing. Wondering if any of you can help me here. What exactly does Edward mean when he tells Alice “can you keep your thoughts to yourself?” back in the garage when she offers to accompany and protect Bella? I was thinking that perhaps he meant that he didn’t want her to frighten Bella by stating out loud whatever it is that she might “see” in the future, but I’m not sure. He seemed angry and a bit disgusted when he says it to her, so that sort of throws me off. What am I missing? Please help! It’s very frustrating. Thanks.
Actually, I’m confused as well. I came up with two possible explanations, but any of them seems to be good enough.
1. I think he may don’t want her to tell Bella she saw her becoming a vampire.
2. Maybe he doesn’t know what special abilities James and other have and he doesn’t want anyone to find them.
Then again, I don’t think the screenplay is well written, so I try not to think about it too much.
Number 1 is correct, Jana and Emma.
He doesnt want Alice to tell Bella that she saw her becoming a vampire because he thinks that it is avoidable.
There is a scene where they sit in the rain and he tells her about Alices visions, that they alterable because the future always depends on peoples decisions. So he thinks that when he is strong and protective enough, Bella wont become a vampire and he doesnt want to scear her respectively avoid that she is fired up for the idea of besoming a vampire.
I thought it was because of the scene you mention.
Still, the phrasing sounds off to me. Non readers cannot get a clue at all.
Thats perfectly right! Furthermore – in my opinion – non readers cant get a clue of the whole story and depth of chracters, etc. Though I also love the films they are not able to match the books, at all.
Twilight the movie is missing SO MUCH! I always tell those who like the movie to get the book and read it. I mean you just fall in love with Edward and get why Bella is under his spell, so much more!!
I just wish that they had been clearer. Here we all are guessing at what was meant by that comment, but will never know for sure. I hate that. I think they did a very bad job with that, because obviously I’m not the only one who didn’t get it right away. Or even after watching it 16 times! When it gets confusing for those that have actually read the books(s), just think how messed up the non-readers must be. The screenwriter shouldn’t assume that everyone has read the book.
Thanks ladies!
Emma, I think that’s the problem for us – the readers.
We know too much and we know how much is missing so if there’s a quote that doesn’t make sense we immediately think of ten possible explanations.
And don’t let me start with New Moon. There’s much more missing
I’m bit worried about Eclipse, what we’ll get to see.
You said it!! To say nothing of the missing “satisfaction” after seeing the films. What really bothered me in New Moon was Edwards text…! He NEVER said a word that was not über dramatic, romantic, pathetic or just schmaltzy! Though Edward is really passionate and stuff, they showed him the wrong way…, he is also smart, funny, wild (he still is a VAMPIRE), sometimes angry, etc. etc.
Very true. That’s why I love the scene where he asks Bella why it was alright for Jacob to give her a birthday gift, but not him. It was a very quick and short scene, but he showed a bit of human frailty. Jealousy. Aside from that, he was so overly serious and tortured and I’m talking about the first ten or so minutes of the movie, when he’s supposed to still be happy (before birthday party incident). The book wasn’t like that. He was still happy and in love before she went and got that damn papercut. Not Rob’s fault. I blame the screenwriter and all those that approved the script.
Damn, little did I know I was going to open up such a can of worms when I asked my question about Edward and Alice. Nice to know that I’m not the only one that was confused.
*sigh*
We just need Midnight Sun to be finished…!!
German girl, you’re so right.
All I want from Twilight now is Midnight Sun. I would give away both Eclips and BD films, just to have Midnight Sun.
Do you think SM will ever finish it?
Emma, I agree about the screenplay, as I said before. Have you heard that she should be doing BD as well? I pray for them to change the screenwriter for BD, but with my luck, it’s gonna be her
For me.. the most important part of new moon was Edwards departure scene.. I took tissues..!!.. I had heard Alexandre Desplats “the meadow’ and cried.. with expectation as to how that scene would play out… it didn’t make me cry.. it was over before it really got going… the book had the build up!.. the whole story of New Moon is supposed to be the darkest part of Bella’s entire life.. when Edward leaves her.. not just about the werewolves.. I think this part should have been written much better and should have had more of a build up after the birthday party.. there should have been so much more turmoil written for Edward.. and the anticipation that something was going to happen from bella….. still we cant have it all..
I’ve read the leaked eclipse script… it’s pretty good..huge focus on Victoria’s threat.. but again.. ’something’ isn’t quite right.. They don’t build enough on Charlie’s reliance upon Bella.. she is much more domesticated and caring of her father in the books.. and how Bella’s choice will affect her parents so very much… there are a few nice moments between Bella and Edward.. anyway.. I wish they would have had a different Screen writer too.. but Steph obviously agrees otherwise MR wouldn’t be doing all of the movies…. I think if BD does go ahead it will be quite a disappointment if the same approach is taken….
I will hasten to add.. that I still really enjoyed New Moon.. but probably only because i read the books.. and new what was missing.. I can’t imagine watching both Twilight and New Moon without having that knowledge.. I could probably understand why so many think of the movies as cheesy when they haven’t read the books..
I would so LOVE Midnight Sun to be finished.. in fact.. THAT movie would have been incredible to have filmed alongside Twilight.. … personally.. I’m not even that sure that BD will even go ahead.. the end of eclipse seems to tie up a lot of loose ends without having to add the extra bonus of Renesmee and Jacob’s imprinting.. hey ho… we shall but see..
Many of us said it from the beginning and that is, New Moon felt rushed. Too much was left out and many of the important, dramatic scenes lacked intensity. Kizzie has a point when she mentions the “break up” scene. I literally cried when I read it, but felt nothing when watching it on screen, which makes no sense. You would think that it would make one cry harder to actually see the actors bringing that scene to life. I totally understand that they need to pop these films out back to back and as quickly as possible, but because of the rushing, we are getting mediocre films. I really don’t think that MR is that great a screenplay writer. She basically lucked out by getting the Twilight job (it probably would still have been a hit even if a monkey had written it) and it looks as though her luck will continue until the saga is complete. Maybe they should try switching screenplay writers as they do Directors. As long as they don’t change Edward, I’m happy.
I wonder if Stephenie actually has as much say as we think she does. She wrote a book that became a big hit, but then once she sold the rights to Summit, she really doesn’t have actual control over it anymore. They may ask for her opinions and consult her on things, but I truly do not believe that she has any say over what the filmakers decide to do (as long as the film doesn’t stray too much from the original storyline). Just like the actors, she pretty much needs to keep them happy and go along with whatever they say.
Speaking of Stephenie, what’s up with her directing a music video? What does she know about that? Didn’t she always say that before she wrote the book, she was a simple stay-at-home mom doing the same thing most of us do (runnning errands, cleaning, cooking, taking the kids to school, practice, games, etc.)? I don’t know about you, but if someone came up to me tomorrow and asked me to direct a music video, I’d think they were nuts and were secretly looking to fail otherwise why ask me? I wonder if she had another one of her dreams and this time she dreamt that she suddenly became knowledgeable about things that she couldn’t possibly know anything about. Gee, I think my husband has that same dream on a regular basis…
Shoot, I hate such dilemmas. We all know – and I guess lots of other girls and women too- that NM was rushed and lacked for substance the books have but we just cant do anything. Even if we´d complain nobody would care. The following films will make big $$$, not matter what.
I agree with Emma; I dont think SM has no say or at least little. Sad…
Thats why I do it like Sue, I tell all people to read the books. All of them that the books are MUCH better afterwards.
Too bad. I will have to desperately wait for Midgnight Sun. Until then I have to keep going with Diana Gabaldons Outlander. Did anyone of you read it? They are epic as well!
Try it when you need that certain “something” we all experienced it Twilight.
Sorry for all the missing words and typos, Im in a little rush.
Maybe that is why SM is distancing herself from the movies, by saying she just wants to be a regular mom etc…….they are not involvig her so much in New Moon etc as she was involved with Twilight….a pity, because she is the one who imagined this book before anyone else did….her input is definitely a valuable thing to have…..well………their loss and actually our loss….as well…….
Yeah.. it is actually OUR loss Michelle.. you are bang on there.. and those who’ve never read the books will never get what Twilight was about from only seeing the movies…
THANKS for the tip on Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander. I’ll give that a shot.. I tried reading “The Host’ directly after finishing the Twilight Saga (and Midnight Sun).. but couldn’t get my head into it.. I’ve read the Lovely Bones since but really want to experience something wonderful like Twilight again.. I hope this does the trick…. really need to be removed from the world of Twilight!.
hey was just back from the movies and saw a bunch of posters up for Remember Me!.. I actually giggled when I saw it.. and felt SO PROUD!!.. Go Rob!!.. can’t bloody wait
I’ve removed myself from the world of Twilight by starting Wuthering Heights for thrid or fourth time, does it count?
But then again, I took breaking Dawn today in our library as I only read it as a PDF and I liek to read TWL before falling asleep and I kept going through the first three books only. Good, it’s so heavy that I cannot carry it with me.
Haven’t seen any posters yet, but it opens later in the UK.
Let me know how you liked it,Kizzie. Just do me the favour to continue the book till Claire meets Jamie. Its also good in the beginning, but then it gets quite, um, nice in many ways
BTW Rob didn’t win.

Not that he would care, but I do
I was hoping for some nice pics of the winner on cover in next week’s issue.
really.. for me Jana.. the more he loses these things the more he’ll figuratively be ‘left alone’…. I’d rather he didn’t win any of this stuff.. just awards for his performances rather than how hot he is.. that’s where it matters.
I’ll let you know German Girl!..
Wuthering Heights Jana??.. You’ll be onto Romeo and Juliet.. and the Merchant of Venice next!! Have you read Virgil yet?.. lol…
Kizzie, I usuallyl don’t care about these “awards” either, but I stumbled on it by accident and I kept voting few times a day and he had 2-10 times more than everyone elses. But HL fans took over during the weekend, I suppose they were just sitting at the computer and refreshing the browser for hours. That’s why it bothers me. Especially when HL was among the last ones before. And I like HL a lot. Federer was second most of the time. So it’s not about Rob, it’s about MEEEEEE
Anyway, RJ sure will be next for like tenth time, maybe even more asi I read it once a year at least. Virgil – The Aeneid? I think three times was enough for me. I think I’ve read everything SM mentions through Bella more than once – RJ, WH, Austen’s PP and SS …
I tried to read the classics, but I’d much rather see the movies. I know…horrible. I just can’t get into the books for some reason and I’m actually an avid reader. I even tried reading Pride & Prejudice and Zombies. I thought that if it had a comedic twist, I might get into it. Dear Lord, what a waste of money!
Emma… you should try Austen again.. a great and easy way to get into the classics.. Virgil is great too.. but give it some time to get into.. Bel Ami is a good read. but again takes time… go and get Water for Elephants… Sara Gruen.. that is a really great and compelling story.. and an EASY read.. you’ll love it.. and that is the story Sean Penn is making next.. fingers crossed with Rob in the lead!… I read ALL of the TWILIGHT books in four nights before I even looked at the movie.. I just cant do it the other way around… and actually..I personally couldn’t imagine CEDRIC DIGGORY playing Edward Cullen!… *can’t believe I’ve said that on this site.. but believe me it’s true and this was May 2009!!!.. (sorry Rob!)… and then I read Midnight Sun.. and THEN watched Twilight..and was subsequently blown away…
GO for it.. read those books.. you’ll get into them… Try reading Austen’s Emma.. and then P&P… or get an abridged copy of R&J… easier to get into..
hey ho… teaching bit over!!. .ENJOY!!
** hey and if you need further motivation.. just think.. ROb’s read them!! LOL…
