Pierce Brosnan Chats Robert Pattinson

Pierce Brosnan chats about Rob’s performance in Remember Me.
“I think when you see Remember Me, you’ll see Robert giving a fantastic performance. He’s really working hard to work on his performance and acting and who he is.”

At the risk of giving away my age, I have to tell you that I remember having a big time crush on Pierce Brosnan when he starred in Remington Steele. Always thought he had that Cary Grant style and elegance to him. Now look at me. I’m crushing on a guy that now plays his son. Well, at least one thing hasn’t changed. I still like ‘em from England!
Duh – Pierce is not from England.
Emma, I agree. I loved Remington Steele! He had that perfect combination of style, grace and humor. He wasn’t afraid to let the joke be on him, either. Aw, I miss that show!
Pierce has always been a favorite of mine. Loved him in the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair! Cannot wait to see him in Remember Me (although, I do not like him as a “bad” guy, LOL. He’s got too much charm to convince me he’s on the dark side).
Good you pointed that out Leslie.. Pierce is Irish.. although many non-Brits.. class ALL the countries in the UK as English.. just a common error.. (Mrs Doubtfire had a scottish accent.. but in the movie they said she was ENGLISH!)….
They do that a lot, I just read something were Gerard Butler got named the such and such hottest British Actor. It was some bigger magazine….and I was like, he’s Scottish people! To be fair though, I think Pierce’s accent is sometimes kinda subtle and he does sound English at points.
Emma – I’m only 19 and I totally know Remington Steele, too! That was my mom’s favorite show so we have them all on DVD and Pierce Brosnan was great in that show. Remington/Laura was a perfect TV romance couple.
Anyway, I’m really looking forward to seeing Remember Me. I think Twilight was just showing the surface of Robert Pattinson’s acting skills, can’t wait to see him in a role with more depth.
Other signs that this movie is going to be good:
1 – it has Chris Cooper. He’s always great.
2 – great songs in the trailer, especially “Asleep” by The Album Leaf (the one that plays about halfway through). That song is just about as dreamy as Robert himself!
Jennifer… Scotland is a part of the British Isles.. so technically they are Brits..as are the Welsh and the Northern Irish. (although many Brits prefer to be called Irish, Scottish, Welsh or English) so saying they are British is fine.. however Southern Ireland is Ireland and not a part of the British Isles but stating someone is English when they aren’t is a common mistake..
I agree with Jennifer. When Pierce came onto the scene in the 1980’s, his roles dictated his accent, which more often than not was English. I had *no* idea he was from Ireland until much later, when I heard him interviewed in his normal accent. Ah, he’s wonderful, that man.
And Gerry Butler-oooooh! Love him!
Pierce is irish isnt he?? I had such a crush on him in Golden eye!
.. i still do
and Robert and him in the same film?
I literally fell of my chair and was like my two famous crushes put together is why i was born!!
..anyway
English…Irish…Scottish…whatever! For all I know he could be from Jersey City, NJ. What I do know is that he was gorgeous 25 years ago and like the Eveready battery, he just keeps on going and going! Leslie, not all of us have the time to research where everybody in this world is from so why don’t you keep your sarcastic “duh’s” to yourself. The man has an accent similar to those from England, so it was safe to assume that that is where he is from. A simple correction as the other ladies gave would have sufficed. No need to be nasty in your comment.
I didn’t know that Pierce was IRISH…..he doesn’t seem to have that distinctive accent…..oh well, for an Irish guy he definitely still has the IT factor!! But Rob still has the X factor……..!!
i love the acting skills of Gerard Butler. he is definitely a great action star.*’,
Gerard Butler is the favorite actor of my sister because he got this macho factor.*-.
