Anna Kendrick Talks About Rob
Anna Kendrick’s new movie “Up In The Air” has been creating Oscar buzz for her for months now. The movie hit theaters this week and Anna gave an interview to AskMen.com where she talks about Up In The Air and the hysteria surrounding Robert Pattinson:
AM : Have you gotten more attention from the Twilight-ers since you got cast? AK : Yeah. The other great thing is that people just seem to be fine with me. Some people love Rob [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart] and some people say a lot of cruel things. And people tend to leave me alone. If they want to say something they tend to say something nice. Its an insane franchise to be a part of, but I got it the easiest out of everyone.
AM : Since the first part of Twilight has the atmosphere changed in terms of fans and paparazzi? AK : Thank God that people exist who know how to take care of that stuff. Otherwise, we’d just be mobbed everyday. They’ve set up a veritable fortress around every location that I’ve shot at with good reason. We live in our little blacked-out bubble.
AM : How do you compare the attention that circles Twilight star Robert Pattinson and George Clooney? AK : From what I’ve seen they get different sides of it. Rob gets a lot of screaming and a lot of prying and a lot of really, really intense praise, which doesn’t necessarily feel good when it’s coming from this hysterical place. Then I see people come to George and because he’s so established, some people try [to] trick him into saying something. And it’s interesting to watch him sidestep that stuff so gracefully and never lose his cool. I don’t know how he does that.
AM : Is there more hysteria around Clooney or Pattinson? AK : Rob Pattinson. I’ve never seen anything like it. Yesterday, people were asking me [at the Up in the Air premiere with Clooney], “Could you believe how crazy this premiere is?” and I was like, you ain’t seen nothing.
AM : Like stampedes and stuff? AK : Comic Con was pretty intense. We were in smaller theaters, and there were no barriers. I was just thinking, they’re feet away, and he’s standing right next to me. This kid is going to lose an eye right next to me. There were four security guards around him but all it takes is one and your eye is gone.
AM : Do you understand why people are so into him? AK : He’s attractive, charming and funny, but do I get why people do that? No.
AM : Do you think it’s more because they see him as his character, Edward? AK : Yes. Absolutely. I understand that. Reading the books, Edward [Cullen] is like nothing you’ve ever read, and I understand why girls go crazy. But I don’t understand why there’s no disconnect when they see a real human being and start convulsing.
I really don’t think there would be half the hysteria if Rob weren’t himself so wonderful. It’s harder to make a disconnect when the REAL person is even more fantastic. When I watch Twilight and know that Rob can really play that piece on the piano, that those are HIS fingers. OMG and his smile. No amount of saying that he’s acting can replace the fact that that is HIS smile. And he’s sweet, and funny, and dorky and insightful. Yep, he’s even better than Edward and he’s REAL. And I want him. I’d like to think that I wouldn’t grab at him and go berserk but……..it would be a challenge. The only way I might control myself is if I accepted that he’d be terrified and freaked out. I’d be embarrassing myself and he would be thinking how insane I am. That’s like a bucket of cold water. Still might not be enough to stop me. I want to touch him, just once. Over and over. LOL.
By the way, this picture is really gross and a huge turn on at the same time.

I agree with what your saying too–I can tell the difference between Edward and Rob but, seeing him play the piano in Twilight and just his sweet, beautiful, and wishy-washy ways is what makes him so attractive. Yes, Edward is incredible and after I read the books the first time I had a tough time even looking at my hubby (not really but, you can imagine)–I mean Edward is the perfect man and I didn’t read the books until the movie was out sooo, Rob definitely looked like Edward to me–I still can’t believe people were made about him being cast!! When all I can say is thank you to Catherine and Kristen for bringing this beautiful creature to us!
I always joke to my hubby that Rob is Edward and vice versa but actually, I don’t believe that. Sure, Edward is described as being perfect in every way but that’s not why I’m so into Rob. He has a lot of imperfect yet endearing things about him which make him so irresistible. So sorry Anna Kendrick but the adoration that follows Rob eveywhere is not about people blurring the lines between him and Edward but because of him himself. Well, at least for me anyway.

I really like Robert, but in the back of my mind, I can’t help but wonder…….if I ever end up meeting him( in my dreams), would I really see him for who he is or what I imagined him to be.
@Riley…….I’m sure that Robert would be different than some of the fantasies I’ve spun around him, however, I don’t think I’d be disappointed in the real man. He seems like someone I would love to get to know better. My fantasies are only the beginning.

ROBERT PATTINSON is awesome. He’s such an enigmatic guy with great talent. I so look forward to seeing his movie Remember Me when it comes out in March.

This talented,handsome, and an artistic young man when paired with the Edward Cullen character launched him into a perfect storm of sorts, this hysteria! He is quite a force now. I think his parents did a wonderful job bringing him up, and it seems they gave him the foundation to lead this glorious life while not getting too swallowed up in the celebrity of it all. I am sure we will see some great work from this young man in many artistic endeavors. Looking forward to it.
