Robert Pattinson talks his Music!

The world knows that Robert Pattinson is an actor that can take on any role and do it very well. However, in a new interview the ‘New Moon’ star discusses his musical aspirations and what it will take for him to release an album one day, but that he wouldn’t want people to buy it with a sticker that said, ‘By the vampire of Twilight‘ on it. Pattinson wants the music to be appreciated in its own right.
When asked about his music, Pattinson says: “I write songs that’s true, I’ll record a few tracks as soon as I finish the promotion for the movies, but before I won’t do anything.” He continued: “I don’t want to release an album which has a sticker on it saying, ‘By the vampire of Twilight,’ on it.” He adds: “If the record is released one day there won’t be my name or my picture on the cover. Everyone would be biased. No one would listen to it.”

How would he release it without his name? A band name? Or is he going to do a Garth Brooks where he had that alternate musical identity. Anyone remember that? Chris something. It was supposed to be for a movie and the movie never happened but I think the album did. Strange. I probably don’t listen to the stuff released under a record label he would use. So I’m taking comfort in the fact that fans would surely let the rest of us know when it happens. I would hate to miss out on hearing Rob sing.
I would buy his cd. I love Rob’s music and his voice is soooo sexy! He is very talented! I can’t wait to hear a cd by him.
But he is right though… I wonder how many people can say they listened to that style of music before. I certainly love his music now.. but when I first heard it and couldn’t understand the lyrics I was a little more prejudiced. I will be very interested to know if he can pull off recording under a pseudonym.. there will be so many leaks!!.. I often wonder if he is singing on tracks by Marcus Foster and Bobby Long.. such similar voices.. and I wouldn’t have heard their music had it not been for Rob!.. Twilight certainly opened the door for his music but as he quite rightly suggested.. he wants the music to be heard on its own merits rather than prejudiced because the ‘vampire from Twilight’ did it.. (So it must be good) attitude..
fans can be very biased..
I agree Kizzie….fans can be very biased! He alone introduced me to a different style of music that had he not sang it, I’m not sure i would have bothered listening to it! But now that i have, I quiet like it! It is a very relaxed form of music…….I think he is pushing it if he thinks noone will know it’s him….sad but true……
hes totally right id be the same if i was him id hate my music to sell just due to my fam as an actor it wud suck!!!
I was the same Jazz. I have over 8,000 songs on my iTunes.. but since Twilight and of course Rob.. and his musical mates has opened my ears to a lot more music.. for the past year I have been stuck into acoustic artists.. which I know I wouldn’t have found had it not been for Rob’s music!!..
A sample of my favourites.. whom I would have never listened to had it not been for Rob’s music or even his taste in music.. I love finding new music!!..
Laura Marling (because of Rob)..
Josh Pyke *you’ve got to hear his version of Wuthering Heights!*…
Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Creaturesque, Vampire Weekend, The Shins, Paolo Nutini, and a heap of others.. I even found Van Morrisson again.. and I am quite happy to raise my hand and say it was Twilight and Rob that introduced me to these musicians..
THANKS ROBERT!
I love his voice..love his song so far ..I would know it was him without any name..
do it rob please do it! you rock my life
No need for a pseudonym — unless Robert is trying to circumvent contract obligations.
This territory has been covered before by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Rick Springfield, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews and many more. Most fans select one talent over the other; some enjoy both.
I believe he should follow his heart and know there is a season for everything.
I love his voice and the songs that I’ve illegally down loaded to my IPOD .. I’ve already started my own little Mr. P play list. I can’t wait to hear more.
Perhaps a little small club touring like his friends do. That would be cool.
OH AND P.S.. PSSSSS…
I would like to hear some of those PIANO skills.. He was born with those long fingers for a reason. Tickle those ivory keys and lets hear it.
I agree with everything Kizzie said.
I would definately buy his album. He is an amazing musician.
I think it’s awesome that Twilight has been a way for him to get his music out there, and I am sure he is grateful for it, but I would hate for people only to listen to his music because of WHO he is not his talent. It would be a waste and they wouldn’t appreciate it.
OK, this is completely Off Topic- but I know you gals know everything. And it’s driving me crazy, LOL.
In New Moon, the scene with Bella & Jacob in his garage, there is a song playing on the radio. Bella turns off the radio, Jacob comments he liked that song. She informs him she’s not into music anymore. What is that song? Is it on the soundtrack?
Seriously, this is driving me nuts. I know someone has to know this!
Thank you!
~Sorry…..back to Rob….~
I thought I read somewhere that he sang under the name Bobby Dupree….it was sometime last year that I read it when he was just becoming famous. Wondering.(hmmm) anyone remember……..I do have his songs on my phone…they are great.
The need for the pseudonym Jenn is for Rob to release his music without bias..which is how he wants it to be heard.. regardless of whether fans choose a particular talent or not.. with respect to Rob’s fans, there would be a majority who would ‘love everything he does’.. even if it happened to be total bollocks.
Not sure Ella… but I’m going again this weekend so will listen out for it…. maybe there is a way of looking up the soundtrack on imdb or something…
@Ella.. it is on the sound track.
There are two that you could be talking about .. The one where Bella turns off the radio is – All I Believe In by the Magic Numbers.. The other is when Jacob is working on the bike and it’s – Shooting the Moon by Ok Go..
Someone.. has seen this movie more than what a normal person would watch it.
YES!!!!! Thank you! I knew you ladies would know this!!
It’s the “All I Believe In” song- love it!
Thank you, Rose!
Oh, hon, I have seen this film WAY more than I should- but I don’t care. I loved it. To hell with the critics- they just don’t GET it, do they?
Thank you, again! = )
Maybe if the critics did some research and read the book they would have got it lol.
I never believe what the critics say… The critics here in Australia slammed The Hangover, gave it like one star reviews, and that’s like the funniest movie ever.
I loved Robert’s voice the first time I heard it. I didn’t care that I couldn’t understand the words because I thought he sung with his soul. He makes you feel what he’s feeling when he sings. I think he’s not giving his fans enough credit. There are plenty of us who would have still been a fan, even if he only did one Twilight film.
Talent is talent, and I do think Robert has got something special when it comes to music, I think you can feel his passion.
@Stacey OH DEAR LORD… the Hangover is probably the funniest movie I have seen in my entire life. It comes out on DVD in a few weeks. Can’t wait..
Robert’s voice is mesmerizing and incredible! His music is fantastic. He truly is a talented person! It’s only an added bonus that he’s absolutely sexy too! He really sings from his heart and soul. It’s amazing to see how deep he can really be. His voice sounds like a tormented soul coming out of a young, gorgeous, and talented man…I wonder who or what hurt him in his life? He is inspiring! I’m truly awe struck by the depth he offers!
Robert Pattinson DO NOT CHANGE A THING! You are wonderful!
Love your biggest fan from Gainesville Florida!

P.S. You were born on my birthday!
