What Did You Think of New Moon?

Okay, spill?!?! What did you think? What was your favorite part? Was it everything you imagined? I’m seeing it tomorrow morning but am dying to hear everyone’s thoughts

Okay, spill?!?! What did you think? What was your favorite part? Was it everything you imagined? I’m seeing it tomorrow morning but am dying to hear everyone’s thoughts
It was amazing! Better than I thought it’d be! The crowds were crazy but the movie was waaay better than the first. Thought one scene got a bit marshmallowy but other than that, it was great!!
Amazing! I had a few ehh moments but I loved it enjoy. I did!
I’m gonna be honest, I HATED the beginning, i have no idea why haha. But pretty much after edward left it was good, and then when he came back it was sooooo much better.
Reallly reallllly great movie and a good cliffhanger, even though i already know what happens haha
.the movie was not long enough for me..i wish there had included more detail..it would have been a 3 hours movie ..I like rob,s acting and taylor try hard..when it come to kristen .she did some great screaming..but there was not enough passion for me..I would have like them to be more passionate about everything…it,s a movie about extreme emotion but i didn,t feel it in the movie like i did in the book.the first time i saw twilight was on my plasma tv..and the forest was greener everyone look better than on that big screen..so i will get the dvd and look at it again…I’m glad i went to see it..I enjoyed it very much…
LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! So much better that Twilight…hats off to Chris he did an amazing job! Rob was awsome! Kirsten did a great job! she is way better in New moon…and Taylor.,,,.,……mmmmmmmmmmm well WoW! Over all very good! Fav sceen would have to be………aw crap I can’t pick one! The one liners are so so so funny! Loved the ending too! will be watching it again! Can’t wait for Eclipse!!!!
it werent that good
I watched the midnight screening and then I went the next day as well. The first time I watched it I wasn’t that impressed, but I put that down to severe sleep deprivation, because the second time I absolutely loved it. A few scenes are missing, but Chris Weitz is supposedly adding a director’s cut to the DVD which has over 15 minutes of extended/deleted scenes. So there’s something to look forward to!!
Watched it @ midnight and was sadly “slightly” disappointed. It’s definitely true to the book, but I brought tissue expecting complete heartache to overtake me (I mean, I cried all the way through “UP”) and I didn’t shed a tear during New Moon. The movie was so fast paced that I couldn’t get emotionally attached to any one scene. Where in Twilight, Catherine chose a few sections from the book and elaborated on them, Chris crammed as much from the book into a short amount of time as he could…rushing through everything ~ it took alot away from what the movie had the potential to be.
On a good note, It was nice to see everything played out on-screen and I’ll go see it again and hopefully enjoy it a bit more. (sucks when the chic next to you is making comments throughout the ENTIRE movie - if you possess this annoying habit: please wait for the DVD! - lol). But, Twilight got better each time I watched it, so I’m assuming the same for New Moon.
Another awesome taste of goodness was the “Remember Me” trailer…whoa! Rob is amazing in this movie…and it looks heart wrenching. I’m so excited to see that! ;o)
I loved that New Moon was more true to the book than Twilight was….I think they edited too much trying to condense the movie to time limits, but overall I truly enjoyed watching the book transform into the screen. As always the cast did a phenomenal job—I like this director better!!!
I have to agree with Robo, I think it moved way to fast. I didn’t feel the heartbreak and sadness that I should have when Edward left Bella. I did like the music, and the special effects- those were great! Overall, I still loved it! I just would have liked for the movie to slow down. But I guess the movie always pales in comparison to the book! (Oh, and Jacob is looking GOOD!! He gives Rob a run for his money… but I still root on side “Team Edward”
True to the book. Chris Weitz was a huge improvement on Catherine Hardwick who, frankly, I didn’t like much. Kirsten was much better in this one. Taylor looked fantastic (but I’m still Team Robward all the way!), CG was pretty good too. Volturi casting was awesome. I will definitely watch again!
So good, I don’t know why but my favorite part in New Moon(the book) has always been when Bella realizes Carlisle’s mercedes is outside her house so I’m really glad they put that in there
I think kristen did 150% times better than she did in twilight, I am really proud of her performance. I don’t really care for rob’s look in this one but, its Rob. Of course he looked sexy no matter what
Oh dear!.. have any of you seen the REVIEWS!???.. The press is tearing New Moon to pieces and Chris Weitz!.. I haven’t seen it yet but hope it isn’t as bad as they are saying.. most comments suggest Twilight was much better and they shouldn’t have fired Catherine..
what do all of you think? *please level headed opinions rather than passionate obsessed answers!
thanks!
It was more than I expected! It was phenomenal… amazing… spectacular… heartbreakingly beautiful!!!
The worst part though was… when it ended! It seemed to fly by! I felt like it had just started and she was already in Italy!
But Chris Weits did so amazing! I couldn’t be happier with it!!!!
Ok so saw it last night, was happy. the movie was great, but but not THAT great… Im really really pissed that they took SO much out of the book. for example:
(1) The plane ride and car ride back from italy… that was a key scene and im mad they did not inlude it.
(2) when bella is depressed, they should have added her ripping out the stereo
there were other scenes to.
The movie itself was a bit sketchy, it was very fast paced i guess u could say.
good parts:
Wolf pack: AMAZING! just how i picturd
Volturi: again, AMAZING!
Edward and bella: when he reads romeo and juliet, in the classroom i died, the kisses were hot, but could have been a bit longer
Charlie: BRILLIANT! HILARIOUS!
I am…torn. Some parts were excellent–the wolves, Volturi scenes, the parts with Jacob before he becomes a werewolf. Didn’t think I would feel the connection between Bella and Jacob but, props to them both. And the scenes leading up to Bella jumping off the cliff. Nicely done.
Hated…I mean hated the music!! Could it be more melodramatic for every single dramatic scene in the movie??? Sad part…okay cue really really sad music.
Hated Edwards hooker makeup!! What was that about? I know he needs to look like a vampire but…
I actually liked the end. Although thought it could have brought in more dialogue from the book. It was more romantic.
But saw the midnight screening last night, seeing it again tonight. Maybe I will change my mind. Probably not about Edwards makeup though, ugh.
Ooh .. good. I had high hopes for Charlie!.. and I hear Anna Kendrick was funny too… ah well. I shall see it for myself … I hope there aren’t too many screaming fans!
I loved it, the directing was better the acting was better the colour was better everything was better new moon is my fav book so this might be biased except it wasn’t long enough some of the scenes were to short eg the cliff diving scene and the fight with jake they were to short the movie should have gone longer maybe 30mins longer BUT twilight went even quicker so yea loved it
:)
CHRIS is now my new fav director!!! wanna see it again!!! and I can’t wait for it to come to DVD!
Team Edward!
It was AMAZING
i luved the movie… i thought the script was better than the twilight script…. luved Jacobs story… i thought they did a good job with Bella and Jacobs relationship… the only part i hated was all the cullens makeup and wigs especially Jasper and Rosallie… i thought them 2 looked awful. but all in all the wolf part was amazing and Robert looked Hot.
I absolutly Loved it…..talk about amazing! I recommend that everyone go watch it>>>you wont regret it!
Omg………rOBERT pATTISON is so HOTT!!!!!!!!
II saw the movie last night, with a house full of teenagers, but actually they didn’t scream a lot for the movie was so fast paced. You wanted the scene you were looking at to go on a little longer before the next scene popped in. Not enough Edward. Bella was more articulate in this movie and of course Jacob was a lot better, and better looking, but I missed Rob. I would have like to see the scene where they are on the airplane coming back to Forks, its like a big chunk is missing from the time they leave Italy, until she wakes up in bed. The wolves were amazing, I was actually flinching with the fights. It is definitely worth seeing again, and of course, owning the DVD when it is out. That’s what I want for Christmas if it is out by then.
All I Can Say Is Two Words…..ROBERT PATTINSON!
i hate jacob…go edward
i dont know….i just went for the popcorn
i am so like absolutly like seriously like in like love like with like new moon………

HEY
I’m from Norway. And I love this page. I also loved the movie. Saw it yesterday at six and last night at twelve. AND I’m seeing it one more time in about a couple of hours. IT IS AWESOME.
I think the strongest scene is when Bella’s sitting in her bedroom looking out while the months pass by. Lykke Li’s singing Possibility - THE BEST SONG EVER - Have to admit I cried !
The wolfs are awesome, and Victoria is craazy, I’m soo gonna miss Rachelle Lefevre in the next movie
You know what? - I already won tickets to the premiere of Eclipse ! - SOOO HAPPY
I loved it, but have to agree with many of you that it was a little fast paced. There were little scenes in the book that would have been great if added to the movie, but then again, if that had been done, the movie would have gone on forever. Kristin is killing me with her blinking and having trouble getting words out. I just don’t think she’s that great an actress. Taylor is looking mighty fine. He was really good in the movie. Almost brought a tear to my in a couple of scenes. The scenes were a little too rushed, so that tear never stood a chance of flowing over. Rob….well, what can I say? Utter perfection in every sense of the word. Gorgeous to look at (how ’bout that scene when he almost “exposes” himself to the public in order to be noticed, huh? I, along with all the other women in the theatre, noticed a hint of true exposure from Rob himself! Gasp!) Me likey! The ending is to die for. Not going to give it away (if you read the book, you know what’s going to happen), but ohhhhh…so wonderful.
Ok……..The overall quality of the movie was so much better…. I like the fact that they tried very hard to stay true to the book (I felt Twilight lact that) Kristen I thought was so much better, mabey more relaxed in this one. I didn’t find her painful to watch.(please people I do like her but in Twilight I feel she over acted or something) Rob was……well great…. but yes on that part i am biast! Taylor blew me away! he has really matured..in more ways than one…lol
Some of the sceens were rushed and you were left feeling unconected…. I do agree with what other people are saying that there was a lack of feeling….I wanted to feel Bella’s pain when Edward left….like I did in the book…..But I didn’t. Same with the reunion of Edward and Bella…….It sort of just happened….I laughed alot during the movie….but alas….NO tears! Still love it though…was great to see sceens come to life!
I left theatre feeling a bit disappointed I felt very little passion betwen Edward and Bella. Movie was fast paced and some crucial scenes glossed over. I was really looking forward to
the reunion scene in Italy and the bedroom scene at end but felt very little relief that they were together again. (I blame the screenwriter ) I loved the support cast I thought Billy Anna and Mike were great in there brief scenes .
I am a big Rob fan but didn’t like him in this movie. However I am glad to say having seen the ‘remember me ‘ movie trailer that his star is going to shine brighter than the Twilight movies.
I will see the movie again and am looking forward to Eclipse and hope that it is darker with more character development. I will also avoid you tube and all the teaser trailers as I felt I had seen most of the movie and there were very few surprises (Summit please don’t give so much away)
omigod. it was amazing! im pretty glad that the, even though the cinema was sold out (all screens) EVERYONE was quiet apart from when Robert first appeared and then when Taylor fort came on .. oh and when Taylor was wet and half naked
but it was such a good cliffhanger for those who havent read the book!! LOVED IT!!!!!
I loved it. It did go a little fast, and I have to admit, I did not like the book, because of how childish Jabcob Black became, after he became a wolf. I really enjoyed how they just showed his “human” side. I understood him better.
Still looking forward to Eclipse, but I have to see if my excitement last until Breaking Dawn.
I can’t wait until Remember Me, I am so happy Robert has a new movie coming out besides’ Twilight!
Love it…
I liked most of it! I thought Taylor did a good job, the werewolves were awesome, but I was disappointed that some of the crucial parts were left out. I also didn’t like the way it ended…..cliffie!!! All in all, the visual was way better than “Twilight,” and I liked it.
Preview of “Remember Me” looked great. I am anxious to see Rob play someone other than Edward. I didn’t like Rob’s makeup in NM……
I loved the movie, but it had its down falls. I thought that the breakup sceen could have been more passionate, (Kristin did not do good in this part of the movie) the book made me cry and I did not cry from the movie, (I brought tissues and had no use for them). The movie was very rushed!!! My favorite part had to be Jake in the rain talking to Bella and when Jake jumped over the porch to get to Bella and the Wolves….still team Edward and love the walk to the light sceen with no shirt in Italy. The part they cut out that I love in the book is the fact that he made her a CD as a B-Day gift and then took it from her when he left just to know that it was in her room the whole time with her. I thought that made the break up more heart breaking because we can all relate to having things to remember someone that is gone. I agree that they should have had the plain trip and the car ride in the end we could have seen more of Edward!!! YUM
it was awesome.
also if you have read the books, the movies might not be that suprising…
Ok kizzie…I will try to give you a headed opinion…there is some book that would be nearly impossible to put in picture..like crime and punishment..and hamlet never come out right to me no matter who play,s him…I think that the twilight saga is very much the same because all the emotion… it is internal..and narrated by Bella..when she looks at Edward her heart miss a beat or goes out of control she feel faint..just touching him it is like electricity through her body..how are you going to portrait that on the screen . on the top of that they needed very young actors…let,s face it ..they experience emotionally is limited at best..
The second book of the saga is..harder than the others..as bella becomes pulled between 2 man..no matter who you choose..one will be hurt..in my opinion is it possible to love more than one person..but in bella,s world there is only one..the other will be hurt..another hard things to portrait ..jake is 17…I was in love every week at that age and got over it just as fast..
what im trying to say is..when the films become visual it was perfect..when it come to the emotion they did the best they could…but they didn’t pull it off completely….that is only my opinion and as my son said….opinion are like ass hole ..everybody has one…excuse my French literally… I’m from Belgium originally…cheers kizzie i enjoy your comment ….
Okay, I’m finally able to throw in my two cents! I actually liked it way better than Twilight and WAY better than I imagined! I was not a fan of New Moon (the book) because Edward was gone the entire time. But in this version I actually liked Jacob. I think Taylor definitely carried this movie, and I felt really bad when Bella left Jacob to go get Edward. But then Robward walks on screen, and *swoon*!!
I thought Kristen did so-so. The breakup scene was pitiful… I didn’t really feel like she got into character until the scene where the seasons changed. Then she got a little better.
I ADORED Billy Burke in the film. He was awesome!
I kind of thought it was interesting how Edward looked so horrible at the end. The sunken eyes, etc. I guess it was a visual way to show how distraught he was …
I thought the special effects were so much better (the sparkling was great!) And I did so love the ending
All in all, I can’t wait to see it again on Tuesday.
And YES I’m SO looking forward to Remember Me in March!
I have seen it three times already and want to go back for more. Is it the greatest movie ever made? No, that would be kidding ourselves. Is it good based on the story Stephenie provided us, I think so. I found Edward to be devastatingly gorgeous. I saw someone commented earlier on his “hooker makeup,” but I liked his look. The eyes were amazing, though I was wondering why they were never black.
I have never been impressed with Kristen’s acting. She has some really brilliant moments, but it seems when it comes to the real deep emotion I just didn’t get there with her. In the book its described as if someone died. I was expecting to cry and feel like I did when I first read the break up scene, but I found myself looking at the screen going, “really…thats it?”
I thought Rob was 90% committed. I don’t know why they are afraid of showing Edward angry. Like, at the end when they vote, Edward is furious in the book but instead he just has the brooding look on his face. He is a vampire. He is supposed to be scary and threatening sometimes. I don’t understand why they can’t pony it up.
Honestly, I think Taylor did the best job. He was sweet, sarcastic, mean, etc. all when he should have been.Yes, he was gorgeous too!
The things I did like: the apparitions of Edward were very cool. Aro was awesome. Everything I could have imagined. I loved the scene where Bella goes in front of the Volturi. Very nice change.
My favorite imagery scene was Bella drowning. The way she was in the water and then Edward’s apparition floats up next to her…very nicely done.
Billy Burke was great…Mike Welch was very good.
I am looking forward to Eclipse. It is my favorite book!!!
Your going to love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter Ally and I saw it here in Australia at the 12.01 am session on the 11/19/09 having just watched the Twilight session before at 9.30 pm. It was awesome, we laughted, we cried and we went home wanting more. Kristen was fantastic, Taylor was fab and Rob was just hot. The film was so good we are going again tomorrow. Don’t listen to the stupid movie critics who didn’t read the books or watch the film with an audience obviously it was just great.
Enjoy.
I do love it too!!! Especially, at the end.
Although, I’ve not finished reading it before I watched the movie yesterday, I ‘m not disappointed!!
Absolutely fantastic!!! Edward looks freaking AMAZING and I love him (sorry Jacob, but there is no comparison since Edward is the total package). The movie had great visual effects, and stayed fairly true to the book. I’ve already seen it three times, and I’m planning to go at least four more times just in the next week. TEAM EDWARD FOREVER!!!! I can’t wait for Remember Me and Eclipse.
I loved it!!!! The action, the special effects were awsome!!! Taylor was fantastic, Kristen was amazing and Rob well is sexy!!! I am also going again tomorrow!!! Critics dont have a say anyway its the fans!!!! It was absoutely and truely amazing!!!! Its ssooo good i cant stop thinking about it!!! the volturi and the wolves are wonderful!!!!!
I also have to disagree with a few of you yes it might have been fast paced but theres only so much you can but into a 2h 10min movie from a long book like that!!! everyones performances were amazing, kristen Stewart did an amazing job portraying bella in her depressed state!!! I AM SO TEAM EDWARD!!! I LOVED THE VAMPIRES!!!!
sorry but I was quite disappointed with it. I seriously do not like Kristen Stewart’s portrayal of bella. Sorry but she annoyed me in twilight and even worse in this one. When she screams “NOOO” when the volturi were going to kill edward made me cringe. Taylor did a good job of jacob. Sometime he dropped the ball but mostly everything I thought jacob could be. The dialogue went to fast in sections. in the book it takes time to come to a realisation (as in it was edward on the phone at the end) but they just jumped to the conclusion to fast.
it was SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOO much better then twilight!!!!! i LOVED IT and i dont think its possible to love it anymore then i do. i just dont like the ending, they always gotta make the story unfinished i dont know why. but either way i LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well folks, $72.7 million dollars don’t lie…………………………………………….
I don’t know $72.7 million was just curiousity. I saw Twilight 10 times in the movie theater. My most theater showings ever. I don’t think I’m going to see New Moon even close to that.
OMG I LOVEd IT I LOOVEEEdd ITT!!.. it was better then twilight in my opinion, they put much more detail into this one ^^ OMG the wolf pack was HOT !! the effect were AWESOME!! and EDWARD… * swoon!!*
OMG I LOVED THE END!! I WAS LIKE.. :O NOOO ITS NOT FINISHED YETT!!!
but i guess we gotta wait ’till eclipse!! CANT WAIIT
I had no idea what to expect. I tried to stay away from all the hype so I could just dissolve into the film.
I liked it. Chris W was very true to the book. Yes, they took out some key scenes (the trip back from Italy)- but, welcome to the movies. They cannot totally replicate what we loved about the book- but it came close.
LOVED Jacob in this- Taylor was fantastic. The Wolf Pack was great, too. I liked Jacob & Bella onscreen together- they gelled well. I thought they portrayed friends + very well. I still think you have to read the book to get the *true meaning* of what Stephenie Meyer was trying to convey with this story- but kudos to Chris W. I think he did a far superior job making this film than Catherine H did with Twilight.
KS was only slightly less annoying (to me) this time around. Perhaps by the end of Breaking Dawn, I might have something complimentary to say about her acting skills. I still do not like her as Bella- she just lacks talent in my book. But she worked well with Taylor. Dunno, she just does not convince me that she is that character.
I’m gonna go again tomorrow, just to immerse myself in this fantasy for awhile longer……
Don’t fret the “critics”. Some ripped it to shreads- and they did not even SEE the bloody thing. If you’re not into Twilight- that’s OK. We forgive you. Just leave it alone for the rest of us to enjoy. = )
Saw it. Loved it..Kristen did an amazing job. Taylor was awesome. Robert was incredible. Will definitely buy the movie so I can see it over and over and over again.
I LOVED IT!!!!! I enjoyed Twilight…mostly becaue Rob is so freaking adorable, but I thought New Moon captured the feel of the book more. It felt more like a fairytale to me. I thought it was a very visually beautiful film. I can’t wait to see it again!
I LOVED IT!!!!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!! LOVED IT!!!!! TWILIGHT & NEW MOON, ALL BOOKS ARE GREAT !!!! I WOULD LOVE FOR THE LAST MOVIE BRAKING DWN. TO BE 4 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLZZZZZ I NEVER WANT IT TO END……. BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEVER IN MY WHOLE 39 YEARS ,WHENT TO SEE A MOVIE AT 12 MIDNIGHT!!! AND MY BIG LOVE IN THE MOVIE IS…..EDWARD!!!!!!!! XOXO
lol @melina
i’ve see the double feature today here in germany. and i just can say wow!
it’s an amazing movie. i don’t know whats my favorite scene is, maybe the fight between paul and jacob!
sorry for my english
wish you all a nice evening and sweet dreams
Wow I am late to this one lol.
I have seen it twice now. The 12.01am screening and then again that same night after work lol. I really liked the movie. I am with whoever said that Edward has hooker makeup in this, I agree! It’s in the lips. Men should not wear lipstick even if they are playing a vampire. But I do like how they made him look terrible at the end when he is in Italy. To show how in pain he is.
The bit of Alice’s vision of Bella as a vampire (when they are in Italy) is BAD. It looks so gay.
Michael Sheen as Aro is perfect. He did the most amazing job of that character, I don’t think anybody could have played that character quite like he did.
I agree about the breakup scene. I think that Rob did a great job in that scene but Kristen didn’t quite do it for me. I was expecting to get a little teary during it, but I didn’t. I felt it more in Jacob and Bella’s breakup than Edward and Bella’s.
The special effects in this movie are definately better than in Twilight. I think the whole movie is better than Twilight. I am really excited for Eclipse.
This movie was a lot funnier, which I liked. Anna was really funny in her one main scene. And Billy was funny too.
I like the wolf pack. I think Taylor did a really good job in this movie. I think he carried the film. I am not a fan of Kristen as Bella. I just don’t think she is a good actress. She is way less annoying in this film than she is in Twilight, but she was still crap. The blinking is annoying!
The critics here in Australia have been a tad mean. In one newspaper it said something about the fact that the wolf pack doesn’t wear any shirts, only shorts, and it said something like “it’s like the chipendales of the forest”
Clearly, the critics have not been doing their research. If they had they would understand better. Obviously they couldn’t put everything that’s in the book in the movie, or the movie would have gone for 8 hours. Not that I would complain though! lol.
My view on new moon is : alright
like many of you i too think that the movie glossed over MANY important facts and showed the audience as much events as possible. it skipped mant thiings or didnt develop the scene properly, Robert is BEAUTIFUL but his make up could be less smothering in “eclipse”, thought his make up in twilight was very well done, Kirsten was faboulous great actress as well as taylor !- with his abs!, at the ending I ddnt like how it suddenly ended again not developing the CRUCIAL scene.(cliff hanger - but when all the people that have red the book no what shouldve hapend)
- There was alot of hype about new moon , with millions of trailers being released i think it was a bit to much and sortove took away the mystery of new moon . I felt as if i had already seen the movie abit. ( summit dont release any more!!!!!!)
- I thought the voultri were bloody awsome !
- wolf pack - to die for
- Rob - almost died hes so hott
- taylor - great acting - bod !!
- Chris - thougt he dd an over all good job , I understand that he counldnt put EVERY single thing that happend into the move (i wish) because it would go on forevr and many of us have differnt views on what ‘important’ seens are.
-
I absolutly adore twilight saga and really hope that eclipse will be perfectly mad - because its my favourite book !!!! David slade - heard he was good ! hopefully !
please people comment on what I have said and give your opinion.
Just reply to
CLAIRE O. NZL
ps. does any one have the latest news about mid night sun?
thanks
TWILIGHT !!!
team edward :)xx
thanks stephanie!!!
- I agree with the comment above both of mine
alice;s vision could of been more ‘visual’ to the audience. it looked as if she was just weirded out buy something?!
^
That was perfect, Stacey. I agree with everything you wrote!
I went with two friends (the first time) who just watched the first movie once- and they didn’t read the books. They don’t understand the hype, the appeal. I STILL think you need to read those books to fully understand why we all LOVE this story. Yes, Rob is sexy and Taylor nailed that part after working his butt off- but it is this STORY, these CHARACTERS and their interactions that keep me hooked. This movie, cinematically, made Twilight look like amateur hour. I cannot wait for Eclipse!
And my Christmas shopping was finished in September- so I can spend the next five weeks, not getting trampled on by rabid holiday shoppers, but enjoying this movie!! Yay!
I know after 60 something comments, probably no one else is gonna read this, but have to put my 2 cents in. The following are lines from the book that I really missed in the movie.
“Here’s to responsibility twice a week, & recklass every day in between”. Jacob & Bella.
“”Only a teenage boy would agree to this, deceiving our parents while repairing dangerous vehicles, using money meant for my college education.” Bella.
“Unexpected moment of insanity, false fabricated evidence that he cared.” Bella
“The waves of pain that only lapped at me before, now reared high up & washed over my head pulling me under. I did not resurface.” Bella
“I might as well have been packed in styrofoam peanuts the last semester.” Bella
“It was heaven right smack in the middle of hell.” Bella
“Keep in mind Edward & I are sort of a package deal.” Bella
More lines from the book, not in the movie.
Bella’s all about extreme sports these days.” Alice
“You look like hell Bella.” Alice “I drowned today.” Bella
“Anyone else would be better off when the vampires left town, but you have to start hanging out with the first monsters you can find.” Alice.
“Your like a spy or something, You’ve been behind enemy lines.” Jacob
“We’re a messed up pair, neither one of us can hold our shapes together right.” Jacob
“I have to step out for a moment, don’t do anything funny while I’m gone.” Emmett
“recklass in Forks, now there’s a hopeless proposition.” Bella
“Jake can hop.” one of the wolf boys
Afew more lines I missed. “I don’t think I can live through seeing you try harder.” Charlie
“If you stay I don’t need heaven.” Edward or Bella, I forgot.
“Amazing Carlisle was right.” Edward “Your greedy tonight.” Edward “”Would it be childish for me to hide in your closet?” Edward “Your wounding my ege, I just proposed to you & you think it’s a joke?” Edward “I was laughing. I felt so weighless that I laughed again, just to make the feeling last longer.” Bella “Jacob, the only human I’ve even been able to relate to…..& he wasn’t even human.” Yes, they left out some very great lines.
@Jeepers….a screenwriter wants to write her own lines. I can’t blame her for that. I thought they stayed very close to the book. There were a lot of “one liners” in the movie though. I laughed at them, along with everyone else, but then thought maybe I’m a little annoyed by all the jokes and snappy comments. It felt like a lot of them. And I completely resented the “cougar” comment by Bella even though I know there is some discussion in the books about their representative ages. I took that one a bit personal so that’s probably just me.
its was super! i staterted cryingg just like i did when i read the book! i have went through what bella was going through.. except im sure,. hers is 303789022x worse. i cant imagine how she felt.
I thought the acting was better than in Twilight-the characters seemed more comfortable in their skin. I thought this movie had better pacing. Of course it was rushed in parts, but that inevitably happens when converting a novel to the screen, but I thought they did a decent job. I agree with Rob that they should have kept Edward a voice, but on the other hand, my favorite scene was when she jumped off the cliff and sank into the water and saw him lying next to her in the water…heartbreaking!!
OMG OMG OMG, WE LOVED IT!!!!!!!
OUR FAVE PART WAS WHEN EDWARD REVEALED HIS CHEST (OF COURSE)
BUT WE LOVED WHEN JACOB TOOK HIS TOP OFF TOO =)
IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN WE IMAGINED
WE ARE AT LEAST GOING TO SEE IT ANOTHER 5 TIMES (NOT A WASTE OF MONEY BELIEVE US!!!)
=) =) =)
ZARA AND RHIANNON, NEW MOON ADDICTS XX
Better late than never….
Have to say I was disapointed with New Moon, but as a ‘fan’ still enjoyed it.
Felt they left way too much out, the music was weak, didn’t like the clothes they put Edward in -way too styled and the makeup was way over the top…
Also, I don’t know why they felt the need to add the ‘fight scene’ - I for one would have prefered to have had those few extra minutes to expand on the story.
Felt they rushed Jake’s transformation into a warewolf, we didn’t get to see how he was afraid/confused like in the book.
I did like how they did the months rolling by tho
Since someone mentioned that Rob’s chest was favorite part, I have to comment. I felt embarrassed for Rob. I went twice and both times theater was packed. I would estimate that most people went there as Edward fans. However, after watching for an hour and 1/2 of shirtless Taylor, some people changed sides. There we were, bombarded with that tan, young, ripped body. There were hoots and hollers when Taylor had no shirt, several times throughout the movie. Then Rob unbuttons his shirt and drops it. Absolute silence. I love Rob but yeah, pale and pasty (I know, vampire) and clearly undefined in comparison. Ouch. And I still, though everyone thinks it’s the hottest ever to have them so low, think that Edward would have worn a belt.
Went for the second time last night. Loved, Loved, Loved it!!!! Thank you Kristen, Taylor and Robert! Chris is a wonderful Director! Ashley is so beautiful and is perfect for Alice. Did marvelous job with all the wolves, romance’s Tay and Rob. I want to see it again. If I was rich would go each day it is here. Already have the CD and play it all the time. I wish Rob was on the CD but maybe Eclipse!!! So glad Rob and Kristen are together in LA. Hope they enjoy their family, friends and turkey! Love them!!!

Definitely an improvement; nevertheless, it lacked something. More true to the book like expected, yet not quite enough. I hope that Eclipse will improve in comparison to the first two movies. However, my favorite book is Breaking Dawn, with that been said, Summit has to develop a great produt due to the fact that it’s the last book of the Saga and there is no more room for improvement after that. Finally, all the actors, especially Edward, wore too much make-up. (Too pale and too much lipstick) Go team Edward!
Okay, I really Loved it. and the people who wrote badly about newmoon on the reviews can get lost!!!
Hmmm, will anyone read this? Perhaps not, but as someone earlier said, better late than never. Also, I just like discussing New Moon. I saw it with a friend of mine who is as addicted to the Twilight Saga as I am and we were literally gripping each others hands throughout the movie. For a Twilight fan, I think it lived up to the book pretty well but I was disappointed that they skipped a huge chunk of the book- the flight back from Italy. I thought all the acting was pretty damn good, but sometimes I found Taylor Lautner a bit wooden. BUT, I have to say that before I saw it I was Team Edward 200% and really not keen on Taylor, but when he first took his shirt off, my gasp joined all the others in the cinema. What can I say, I’m shallow. I loved the scene when Bella is sitting in the chair looking out of her window for three months. I found it really emotional. Also loved the emails to Alice. Can’t remember if that was in the book, but I thought it was very realistic, probably something I’d find myself doing in a similar situation.
Despite the above, I can understand the bad reviews, but I think that’s more due to the actual story line of New Moon. I think the books themselves are averagely written, the characters underdeveloped and sometimes shockingly unbelievable and the plots hollow (and yet I still love the Saga? Only a teenager) so there is only so much for the film to work with.
Also- loved the kissing
But it could have been longer…
I really enjoyed this movie, but Kristen could have just cried a bit more, if she ever cried in this movie at all, I mean Bella might not be an oversensitive girl, but the love of her eternity just broke up with her, I would have bawled my eyes out!!! Bella cries a lot in the book.
I also felt they could have not put so much lipstick on Rob…….he is so beautiful, and that spoilt it a bit for me………the scene where he walks from his car to Bella is so stark raving sexy, its actually my favourite one. Taylor acted very well, he really worked hard, and I felt he actually carried Kristen through the movie, she was bland as ever, although a bit better than in Twilight, less twitching and blinking going on, which was good!!
I finished reading the book after I watched the movie, (OK I know, rather late than never!!), and I thought the part where Bella sits on Edwards lap after being with the Volturi, would have been a beautiful scene………. but that is just my opinion…..!!
@Michelle SA……….I agree. Kristen has no range. Not enough emotion in the scenes where there should have been more. Bella was more natural. Kristen is stiff. My favorite Rob is the very beginning when he walks out into the meadow. OMG. He looks so pretty and sparkly. The other scene from the car is good too. He smiles that really embarrassed and charming smile where he glances down at the same time. He has such a lovely smile.
He is so freaking gorgeous, I could never be team Jacob!!!
agree with ROBO and AMBER. To those of you who didn’t enjoy it much and left feeling dissapointed after watching the movie, well, gotta blame Summit for released too much and left us no good suprises. DAMN, I HATE THAT. i mean, this new moon movie was like the most anticipated movie since last year, and we (the twihards) expecting ALOT of great feelings/emotions while we watching it. and the all the too much stuff that Summit released, just spoil it all. while i was watching New moon, i did’t feel like im watching a movie, i feel like im there to watch all the puzzles put together. “the puzzles” i mean is all the photos and clips that had released before. when sum up all what they had released, it was total 80% of the movie!
anyways, what i like the most bout this movie is it was good that they didn’t do 100% bella’s perspective and experiences. they put lil bit other character’s experience to fit the story well and better! examples: edward devastating when found out bella’s death, edward met Aro and Aro refuse to kill, a little girl that notice edward sparkles, Aro kill male vampire, and alice’s vision thru Aro’s eyes. (Chris took some part from the New Moon book outtakes. u can read the outtakes at Stephine Meyer’s website)
(when i read Midnight Sun, i was wondering WHY catherine (Twilight’s director) didn’t take some of edward’s perspective, cuz if she did, the movie will be 200% way better. and the non-twihard will understand the movie better.)
it was a very very good that Chris(director) made it as close as the book’s. i was pleased when the characters finally has show some humour.
however, the rushing in every scene was baddd. i was dissapoint that the movie didnt make me cry. the book did.(when edward break up with bella)
My favorite part that was different than the books was Charlie. I was so glad that the movie had Charlie go to Bella during her nightmares. It made no sense to me reading the novel that Charlie would stay in his room and ignore her screaming. The movie was better and more believable in that respect.
MY FAV PART WAS THE WHOLE ITALY AND VOULTORI SEENS. MY VERY FAV PART WAS WHEN BELLA HAD TO SAVE EDWARD FROM THE SUNLIGHT.
loved it loved it loved it also loved robert he is the best very hot cant waite for eclips to come to our screens
It was ordinary, no chemistry between rob and Kristen .felt no emotional attachment to the main actors and the most significant scenes ie reunion scene in Italy and bedroom scene at the end were unemotional and weak. I enjoyed twilight more. And I hated the vampires eye colour they didn’t look as good as in twilight. The supporting cast were the highlight Billy Anna and mike.
Kristen did a good job, Taylor was ok but rob was terrible (thank god for remember me coming out looks way better for rob)
@ Rowena….if you bothered to read the book, you will understand why Rob acted the part the way he did…….in Italy, he thought he was dead and in heaven when he saw Bella…..he was in a trance like state…..she had to convince him that he was alive. He also had no emotion in most parts, because he was depressed and suicidal…..how would you feel if you felt you had to leave your soul mate for his/her own good……..definitely not the life of the party I hope!
I think Rob acted extremely well, for someone who was hardly in the movie……..and I can’t wait to see him in Eclipse……
and by the way you spell Rob with a capital R.
LOL @ michelle SA……………I love how you only defended Rob. Priceless. The rest of the movie can blow but Rob is wonderful. Always. LOL.
@ Rae……my passion for Rob runs real deep………you know exactly what I mean!!! I just get this knee jerk reaction to defend him when someone criticizes him……..weird I know, but I can’t
seem to help myself!! LOL…..but I don’t care, I’ve had to make peace with this obsession of mine, cos I don’t think it’s going to fade anytime soon!!!!!
Michelle - have read the books and more than once that’s how I know about the emotional content of those scenes and I had some high expectations for them from the trailer I should probably clarify I dont hink it’s Robs fault more the director and screewriter !!!!
I am a rob and twilight fan but new moon was an ordinary movie and yes I have high expectations for the next movie which I will probably go see at midnight
I think it was anything but ‘ordinary’.. I am just stunned at how a movie of this caliber with CGI was made so quickly.. Hat off to Chris and team!.. The wolfpack jumping off the cliff could have taken more time… but the werewolves.. WOW!.. far from ordinary…and I am saddened to see the Special Effects department didn’t make the Oscars… (and before anyone jumps down my throat.. you should see some of the nominations and then see why Werewolves et al should have made the list!!)…
. lots of scenes and dialogue I missed but I can live with it.. I’ll buy the dvd and probably go and see it in the cinema another time.
OMG….I SOOOOO HAVENT WATCHED IT YET!!!
IS IT STILL OUT????? IS MONSTERS VS ALIENS STILL OUT??? BECAUSE DATS THE MOVIE I WANT TO WATCH SOOOOOOOO MUCHO BADDDDD!!
loved the movie…. but wished they cud have included some more imp scenes… and lil bit more detail… cudve have been a 3hr movie… wud hav been ideal… nwz… much btr than the 1st film… actors look a lot better in this movie…
I think Twilight fans will love it and Twilight haters will hate it. Ha i know that sounds obvious but what the twilight saga has going for it is the amazing, passionate love story that Stephanie Meyer created and who wouldnt like to see it come to life on tv. So many people criticize the fact that its generally a teen movie. um duh! If your mid-thirties male living at home with you parents and enjoy movies like 1984, then no, new moon is not for you. Trying to be unbiased as a twilight fan i think new moon’s fast pace kept those who haven’t read the book interested. Edward and Bella still have great chemistry as they did in twilight. I personally loved the melancholy undertone that remained throughout the movie and I think Chris did a great job in depicting the utter desperation that Bella and Edward have to be around each other. I loved the scenes where Edward left and the reunion. However saying this I also liked the Jacob scenes in the middle which make you like him a lot more. I’m not really a Kristen Stewart fan. Even though I read twilight after watching the movie I could never picture Kristen as Bella in any of the scenes. Bella is a very emotional character she gets sad, angry, happy just like any human even though shes a little different. Kristen makes Bella come across and uninterested, emotionless and sometimes a little snobby. Anyway thats only my opinion. I defiantly recommend watching new moon if you are already a fan and if your not a fan just try to watch the movie with an open mind and dont be ashamed if you enjoyed watching a ‘teen movie’.
As much as I love the Twilight saga, I think that if they make a TV series out of it, it might be a bit much. If they do go ahead, we all know that there is no way in hell that Rob, Kristen or Taylor will star in it. Who do you think would be good in their roles? I have no idea.
Does anyone watch the Vampire Diaries? It’s not a bad show, but I gotta tell you that Ian Somerhander (?) who plays Damien is wonderful. He plays the role so cool, easygoing and evil at the same time. He can play a good guy just as well. He was wonderful on Lost. He might be able to play Edward really well.
What do you think?
Seen it twice hoping to see more Rob, just kidding, but I loved the movie and so did my family, they were all great.
