Here’s a question that no one has brought up. What is Edward supposed to do when Bella gets her period? I know, disgusting, but I can’t help but wonder. Remember in Breaking Dawn when Bella looks in her suitcase and comes across her box of tampons. Then she realizes that she might be pregnant. See, even Stephenie touched on the subject, but didn’t go into detail. What the hell was Edward going to do???????

That was one difference between the books and the movie that I didn’t like. In fact, I saw the movie first and was wondering, “does he tell her that he loves her” and had to read the book to find out. And there they are in the book, her sitting on his lap, they kiss repeatedly, they tell each other they love each other. It was easier to understand the depths of her depression when Edward leaves, since I knew how intimate their relationship had become and that Bella had opened up her heart completely to him. The movie holds back from that so much. And I feel like Robert is creating his performance based on the books and he’s been criticized for it. For “overacting” in the screen in Twilight when Bella walks in the lab room for the first time. I can imagine there will be the same critique about the angst in this kiss. Seems a bit much if you aren’t familiar with his pain.

Wow! This must be one of the most heart wrenching kiss scenes I’ve ever seen and I really do hope that they use this extended scene instead, and not the one that was originally shown on the very first New Moon trailer months ago. It definitely fits better to the mood of the scene where Edward was devastated at what had happened at the party and was probably already thinking that he has to leave Bella but he had to salvage whatever that was left of that night because it would be the last time he will ever have this moment with her”, this was how I’d interpreted when I saw this new scene. Might I say too, that this is a testimony to how good an actor Rob Pattinson really is because he really pulled off that anguished and tortured expression fabulously. I’ve never watched a kiss scene that made me wanna cry. So please please Summit, use this scene!
