There is only one vampire that matters…..Edward (and Rob) are beyond comparison………..and is it only me, but they got the eyes thing wrong………Edward’s eyes don’t turn red, they turn black………….someone at Instyle needs to do their homework better!!!
I am an Edward (Rob) diehard fan. Love the character of Edward and Love Rob even more. But I must say, I have forced myself very recently to watch a few episodes of True Blood because I saw a magazine article on “Eric” in TrueBlood really deserves an honorable mention, He is verrry good looking, strong willed and quite sexy. Dont know anything at all about the real life person, but his “Eric” character will definitely give the other star vampire in True Blood(Bill) some very real competition. Matter of fact, I believe that in season 2, he did outshine him. I still love Rob in all ways. He has it all, both on a personal as well as professional level.
all i gotta say is that both of them, in the eyes picture, look like they have lip gloss on.
but same with me as it is for anne m, i love both series but i gotta stick with my rob! <3

I feel like I might get beat up for saying this. Eric is top notch for me. I love Edward but Eric is way cooler. Alexander Skarsgard brung him to life better than anyone could have and he’s outshow everyone else in the show and books.
However, I do like Edward’s eyes better.
I had to watch Vampire Diaries last night. Total Twilight knock off but good just the same. The vampires get this cool look around the eyes when they are in kill mode. It really made me wish that Twilight had done something to show their vampire side. I wouldn’t wish for fangs but the eye pinch thing was pretty neat. The main man is so Edwardy. Total teen flick and I’m not a teenager but seeing your comparison between these two made me wonder if we shouldn’t throw in the new guy. He was kinda cute. No Robert. But better than that True Blood guy.
Okay, more to add. It’s the weekend again. Always torn because I’m so anxious that there will be news from the weekends outings. Out and about. Torn because he’s “out and about” with Kristen. Yes, I know shippers, I am jealous. I am so jealous that my piss is green. Still, this is the way that it is for me and I must share to relieve some of the burden of my obsession. What will the weekend bring and do I want to know about it….hmmm….I must know of course because I can not remember what I thought about before I thought about Rob all the time. This is not healthy and does not settle well with my macaroni and cheese in the pit of my stomach. I am like Art with my head in the freezer, I totally relate to the desperation in that scene. Only it has absolutely nothing to do with my parents and everything to do with my miserable and small existence on this planet. An existence of which the object of my affection has no knowledge. I see many years of therapy and prescription drugs in my future. Thank God for cracks with prescription pads. LOL.

Actually Rae, if anything would be a knock off, it woudl be Twilight. The Vamp Diaries acame out in the early 90’s. But Im not gonna waste my breath on that show. I do agree that Stefan is very Edwardy, but he wasn’t like that in the books.

@Brittany…..well I wasn’t sure which one came out first. I wondered about that. I’ll just say then that they seem similar. I’m not sure if it’s going to be worthwhile in the the longrun but it was fun to watch the other night. And it’s so hard to wait for the Twilight movies. This is like a little dose of vampire once a week.
Doesn’t matter what comparison is being made. Rob Pattinson just has it all and will have it all for decades.
I watched Duplicity last night and could envision Rob in that even though Clive Owen was great. And Kristen could easily do the female lead. I loved the photo of Mr. and Mrs. Cullen in one of the videos on YouTube and could see Rob and Kristen in the Mr. and Mrs. Smith roles. I think they both have a blindingly dazzling future. I hope when the Twilight saga has finished we can see them together again. I’d even love to see them doing classic Shakespeare in The Taming of the Shrew. They sizzle together and I love to watch them do it. And we still have Breaking Dawn on the horizon….Yum.
I certainly hope Robert pushes himself as an actor more than just doing romance with Kristen. Please.
@rae – perhaps I should amend my comments. When Rob isn’t busy with other substantive roles (and I’m certain there will be many, obviously), perhaps some lighter fare would also be entertaining to those of us who admire his work. His talent has many facets. I’d love to watch him in any movie he cares to be in and I would hate it if he was frozen in only romance gigs because he has so much more to offer.

the other guy is just plain off putting and ugly………with twilight however, i am really impressed that they portray vampires as breathtaking beautiful beings…..such a contrast to other vamp movies…….i prefer it that way……..i’d rather have Edward in my neck………….i’ll allow him willingly!!!
It’s so easily going to be Eric! For one thing, the guy actually acts like a vamp (unlike Edward who in my opinion is just creepy possessive) that and the guy who plays him is amazing at it! He’s not overcome with angst (at least in the eps ive seen) and he has that sadistic streek which makes him seem like a haunty vampire and not some emo kid! That and i really didnt like the Twilight movie…now if you made it Jasper v Eric, that would have been more difficult!
First off… in responce to a few comments I read.
1. Vampire Diaries is a series of books that have been out for YEARS prior to Twilight.
2. Rob is hot for the younger crowd, but Eric is the front runner for anyone over the age of 28 or so. Plus Eric is much more awesome in the books than on the show . . .
3. I hate to say this because I really am a fan of the Twilight books, but Stephenie Meyer got a lot of her material from other sources… including the book series based on True Blood. The first five books in that series came out before she ever wrote Twilight.
I’m not saying Rob isn’t hot… the man is gorgeous! However… I’d prefer Eric’s bite, his baby blues, 6ft 4 body, and his intense way to romance. Face it, the man knows how to make any shower a bit more memorable! (Read the books if you don’t get that last part!)

Eric…forever-100%…Edward is just everything except vampire…:D I am NOT fan of Twilight because I think the idea is not original and only for those people who are waiting for their prince charming. Especially girls. I am a girl too. I am 15 years old, but Edward is just empty something with no glamour inside.

Ok ok everybody take a breather!! Between the two the both have their good qualities and ok qualities. R patt is very cute although to young for me and Alexander is more in my age range. I have to say when it comes to vampires I prefer fangs(more visual impact). I do like Edwards eyes though. Honestly I respect Eric northman more As a vampire because he knows what he is and he loves it. Plus in a fight he would totally win due to the whole 900 or so year age difference. Anyway the best vampire in my opinion will always be lestat and btw the broody vamp has been kinda worn out. I’ld go for some romantic and happy to be undead characters. Don’t get me wrong though I do enjoy the twilight series for what it is and I think that so far the movies have been well done.
I am totally for Eric. While I enjoyed the Twilight books, the movies were a total turnoff. Edward has the looks, but he gives off awkward vibes when I saw him in Twilight. Plus it looked kind of silly the way he sparkles, and it’s strange for them to never show fangs. Edward also has just become too idolized by young girls with his handsome face and sparkly skin, it’s become overrated. The Twilight movies are now aimed at 12 year old girls to gush over, and as a 19 year old I don’t enjoy watching them.
Eric is definitely the alpha vampire here, Edward doesn’t seem like a vampire at all.

Eric is a billion times hotter by the way. “Edwards” eyes are digitally enhanced, Eric’s eyes are real (Alexander Skarsgard’s that is).
Besides, for supposing to play a “hot” vampire, Robert Pattinson is hideous.
For the love of all that is great in this world, The Vampire Diaries Series CAN NOT be a knock off of Twilight since it was published almost TEN YEARS before Twilight even gained recognition. I hear that from so many kids that it’s just riddiculous. I mean seriously? Twilight doesn’t compare. I did enjoy the books but I hated the movie.
As for Trueblood, such an awesome series. My favorite vampire is Alexander. I’m very excited to see how his character grows in the upcoming seasons because if it is anything like the books, then Whew! I can’t wait!

I have read both the TrueBlood Series and the Twilight Series and I have got to say I love them both. Twilight is very PG and has its own little twist to things, where as TrueBlood is rated R and has its own little twist to things.
In my opinion, I say both. Rob plays a great Edward, he brings out the passion of the Character. Alex plays a great Eric, who is really ruthless and deviant. I think both are hot in the extreme. Too Bad they aren’t real people and they are only characters.
