Just Imagine That You Are Robert Pattinson
Just imagine that you are Robert Pattinson… that you got cast in a small film (even though you felt at the time you auditioned that it was a long shot you’d get the role). Then sometime during filming you started to realize that there was a huge cult following surrounding the books that said film was based on.
Then imagine that all of a sudden female fans started swooning after you. Life is good, hot chicks are stalking you, and you get several other great movie opportunities.
But then imagine that people started following you everywhere, with cameras in hand. You can’t even scratch yourself in public for fear that it will wind up in every tabloid magazine. You go to get a cup of coffee, and this is what you see …

oh christ, can you believe the pressure? I bet he thinks - why dont we all just talk, or chat, fuck off with those camera’s!!
Force targeted the fans and the media is extremely tiring. A man will do this but does not accept. I hope that Rob, despite the whole noise around him remains a normal guy, not hit him with the sodium water not starts to call scandal by the press wrote about him. It is wise boy this madness would not have changed it to someone whom I do not I was able to recognize. I am not able to imagine that I’m Rob. This guy has a lot of strength to endure what I did not I would be more durable than a week. With all my heart I wish him perseverance and patience and to maintain the distance that has to himself and his popularity.

Stephenie Meyer voiced her concerns last year about this. She said she didn’t think Rob was ready to be the new It Guy. He went from a relative unknown actor to being the hottest thing on the planet.
I’m hoping he can remain sane throughout these next two years, after most of the Twilight hoopla has died down. Lots of little girls still think he IS Edward Cullen, so unless they move on to screaming at someone else- he’s got to deal with this insanity. And he’s handled it pretty well.
They need to find another “It Guy” to placate the media, so they will leave him alone. Unfortunately, right now, there’s NO ONE who is as handsome, talented, modest, and down-to-earth as Robert Pattinson. Right now, he’s the gold standard- and I do not have a clue who could take his title away- and give him a bit of a break. I think- if he survives these next couple of years- he could have Johnny Depp’s varied and productive career, instead of being just that cute guy from Twilight.
Hat’s off to Rob. He’s handled his entire life being thrown into the public arena very well. I am just hoping he doesn’t take the path of River Phoenix (and so many others), who did not figure out that drugs are not the way to handle fame.
ITA agree with everything you said Ella. Rob is on a runaway train at this point, which he even admitted in one interview. There’s really nothing he can do but ride out the media/fan frenzy and hope that his non-Twilight films will be well-received so he can continue on with a long and successful acting career.
I don’t see him as the type to find solace in drugs…I sure hope not. He seems too grounded for that, but looking at a scene like that photo above every single day HAS to start playing with your mind! Hang in there Rob…we love ya! (in a non-stalker-y way LOL)

I, too, hope he’s strong enough to not turn to drugs (God knows there are enough of those going around hollywood, etc)…..I’m sorry it’s come to all this madness, Rob….hang in there!
Like the saying goes………be careful what you wish for. I know he wished he would be sucessful, but I am sure he didn’t think it would be like this. I think he’ll make it through un scathed. In life there’s trade offs and you can’t get something without giving something up in return. You have to figure if it is all worth it in the end, hopefully it will be for him.
Our Robert will be fine. I have complete faith that he will endure all of this and we will all(his fans) see his movie career blossom into something iconic(Outside of Twilight). One day we will ne watching him receive one of many EMMYS or a GOLDEN GLOBE award.
It is not hard to see that all those teenagers are after Edward Cullen ..they all dream about a gorgeous boy friend who is mature and caring and loving and always there with his hot car .. lol ..and dad wouldn’t ,t know about any of it ..he would stay in their bedroom all night and want nothing more than a cuddle…
love the books ending happily ever after for eternity..
and then… there is real life… they are all for such a awful shock..so I hope he will be nice to all those kids and take it in stride… he will make a lot of money buy his own home drive a great car meet interesting people and.have a lot of ..nuit blanche as we call them in French… nights were all you do is make love until day break .. enjoyed rob,,, don’t waste a minute of it
