From a NZ Herald News article. Rob talks about the Twilight fans, playing “himself” in Remember Me, learning new skills for Unbound Captives and gaining weight for Bel Ami! I am SO excited to see him in these new roles.
He’s bigger than Ben-Hur at the moment, if you believe all the hype. Yet to come face-to-face with Robert Pattinson is to meet a serious artist, a multi-talented individual who could as easily have been a classical or funky musician as a movie star.
The Twilight juggernaut is propelling the 23-year-old British actor to the heights of mega stardom and, having previously only played minor roles, most notably as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, he is making the most of it.
The small independent movie, Remember Me, was able to go ahead as the result of his casting and Pattinson is now in Unbound Captives, a western set in 1859, where the world’s sexiest youngster gets to act alongside the “Sexiest Man Alive”, Hugh Jackman. (Kate:Less of the youngster please, Rob is all man!)
“The Twilight fans are so devoted, even fanatical, that I’m now able to do so many films,” Pattinson says. “The economy is just so bad at the moment. I don’t care if they think I’m right for the part or not. I can get their movie made, which is great.”

Throughout the weekend, Twilighters from all over are gathering in Parsippany, New Jersey, where the first of what is sure to be many Summit/Creation Entertainment co-sponsored fan conventions is happening. Among the gathered celeb attendees is “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke, who shared some behind-the-scenes facts yesterday during a Q&A.
Fans probably weren’t surprised that the director had to get creative in stretching “Twilight”’s budget to do what she wanted. The big shock of the day was the original vision of Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen, which included a head of long, flowing locks.
“I thought it would be cool if Rob had long, romantic hair,” Hardwicke told the gathered attendees. “So we put extensions on Rob and he just hated it. He sat there in the chair for eight hours and was like, ‘No.’”
Director Catherine Harwicke recently revealed at Twi Tour in Phoenix who her OTHER choices were for Edward Cullen! She also stated that she referred to them as Bachelor’s 1, 2, 3, and 4 (that is including Robert Pattinson!).

Hallmark has already begun unveiling its awesomely campy new line of Twilight-inspired cards. New birthday greeters, featuring the likenesses of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and friends, will continue to make their way into stores through September.
But wishing pals and loved ones another year of life (a “big deal” and “rite of passage” if you’re a human, as the cards say) isn’t all the trinket dealer is selling.
The holiday helpers are also releasing seasonal creations for Halloween and Valentine’s Day.
And better yet, many of the greetings don’t just come with a dreamy picture of Pattz. They also have detachable bookmarks, sheets of stickers and built-in music makers that play—what else?—clips from the Twilight soundtrack.

There was an exclusive Twilight showing tonight in San Diego for the Comic Con event and we were told some of the cast would be there - and so of course I went!
There were 2500 tickets sold and we were ushered into 14 theaters (I think!) After waiting in line for five hours and getting my wrist band, I finally made it to theater 7…
We walked in and saw two directors chairs in the front with a microphone. So we figured at most two cast members would come in…. Considering that there were ALL the cast mates in attendance (from the pics I saw on Twitter already) I figured our chances were pretty poor.
So in comes Ashley Greene. We all scream, because she’s cool Then it’s Christian Serratos. Okay, cool - so that’s our two. But wait, there’s more people walking in!! Next Anna Kedrick. And then the room goes CRAZY - you can hear everyone screaming around me. It’s Robert Pattinson!! Michael Welch and Justin Chon also stroll in.
So wow…
They were asked a couple of questions, including one woman asking Rob why he’s so shy. And then she latched onto him like a leech and almost had to be pulled off!!

I’m not a fan of Rob’s hair in these pictures, from the Entertainment Weekly photo shoot, but oh well!!
